Gastrotur Euskadi is a young company dedicated to offer recreation and leisure solutions around the food culture of the Basque Country to the visitor of this little corner of Europe regarded by many as one of the world’s most exciting gastronomic destinations. Friends and relatives often visit us from overseas and for the past 13 years we have dedicated an important part of our time, besides our f
ull-time jobs, to show them around the Basque Country from a gastronomic point of view because that is our area of expertise. So without realizing it we started doing a gastronomic tours throughout Euskadi so that our guests could know what makes us feel so proud to live here. Quite often after visiting wineries in the Rioja Alavesa region and taste their wines, or after a day at the beach and the fishing port of Saint Jean de Luz, or after visiting Donostia to eat Pintxos while sipping a Getaria Txakoli, or perhaps after walking through the woods around the town of Idiazabal between the sheep and their shepherd and learn how basque cheese is made, or after dinner at a traditional Cider house where the locals gather to eat a grilled Txuleton, our family and friends would always say to us that we should dedicate ourselves to do this tours professionally and make of this our way of life.
