Chrissi, Robbie and Stan would like to wish all our clients Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
We are taking a break for a while - we’ve had a momentous year , a 100th birthday, a wedding and a new grandchild (our first) about to be born any day now . So we’ve decided to concentrate on our family for a bit .
We may be back but for now we are going to enjoy the chalet .

As preparations continue on replacing the steel sections of our beloved railway bridge, a quick reminder that the bridge is closed to everyone - trains, pedestrians and bikes from Saturday 2 Sept to Friday 24 November 2023.

Trains won't be running until at least Monday 4th December [as the rails by old toll booth will also be replaced once the bridge works are complete].

These are the current COVID restrictions that apply to holiday accommodation as announced today

27 March - subject to favourable public health conditions:

'Stay Local' restrictions will be lifted to allow people to travel within Wales
Self-contained accommodation may re-open but only to Welsh customers from a single household. This includes accommodation without any shared facilities and hotels with room service. Holiday providers are urged not to take Easter bookings from outside Wales. People in England cannot holiday in other parts of the UK until 12 April at the earliest.
Organised outdoor activities for children can restart
Libraries can re-open

So we will have to be patient- we’ll be in touch with clients who will be affected

This is the latest statement from The Welsh Government. The next review will be in three weeks time on 12th March

Easter: tourism

The next three weekly reviews after March 12 would be on April 3, just one day before Easter.

The First Minister said that, if cases are still going in the right direction, there could be a limited reopening of some parts of the tourism industry. He said the partial re-opening of tourism would include B&Bs and hotels with room service as long as they are self-contained.

“For the three-week cycle after March 12 we will have further discussions with the tourism sector about what may be possible if the public health situation allows,” he said.

“I met the tourism taskforce yesterday and we talked about a phased reopening starting with self-contained accommodation.”

If places like caravans were to reopen it would likely mean that travel across Wales would now be allowed.

Obviously Doveyheights would love to be open for Easter so we wait with baited breath and will let all clients know if their holiday can proceed as soon as we can. We will email all those affected by continuing restrictions.

If you want to escape the floods/snow and staycation in Aberdyfi in the summer - We are keeping our prices the same if booked before April .
Dovey Heights will be reviewing our prices after that date.
