I love this time in Norfolk, there’s always such a calm to the towns and beaches, but still beautiful weather.

I knew I wanted to make a feature of the wonky chimney at No.28 as soon as I saw it. Not sure the bathroom team shared my vision, but I think I won them over in the end!

The vintage rattan mirror of dreams topped it off perfectly. Swipe through to see what we started with, it’s not pretty!

The best resting place after days filled with adventure.

No.28 has hosted the most amazing families already this summer. Their days filled with coast, countryside and city fun.

We’re now fully booked till 6th September and looking forward to hearing about the magic memories made these next few weeks.

The garden at No.28 was always a winner in my eyes.

Fully enclosed, lush green, great for the evening sunshine and running that last blast of energy out of the kids and dogs!

These vintage Ladybird books were mine as a child, some of them were even my mums and her siblings.

Thumbelina was my favourite from this stack.

Reading has always been my escapism. A way to leave the day behind and set off on an adventure even if you’ve not left the house.

This is something I’ve definitely passed on to Edie, she spends hours reading already. Well, hours listening to us read to her!

You’ll find a well stocked library of wonderful stories in the children’s room at No.28, and downstairs in the cabinet a few great reads for the grown ups too.

What was your favourite childhood book, and what do you love now? I need a few new books for lazy summer days!

The bathroom at Millgate needed the most work. Dated and unloved, we stripped everything out and designed a luxury room that was sympathetic to the cottage’s age.

Being grade 2 listed meant keeping the existing layout, but we made a feature of the beautifully wonky chimney stack.

One of the quirks of this building is the slightly uneven floor and ceiling height. The bath is on a raised plinth to keep it level, which means it’s a tiny bit higher than usual. With the lower ceiling, let’s just say the shower’s not made for giants!

Luxury family & dog friendly cottage North Norfolk

December 2017, we ran away to North Norfolk. In the summer of that year after 4 years of infertility and gruelling IVF, we lost our much longed for twin girls Lily May and Ava. Both born sleeping too early at just 18 weeks.

We couldn’t face another family Christmas. We needed to go where no one knew us, where we could walk, talk and try to make sense of the life we were living. Norfolk saved us that year. The beaches and countryside helped us heal, we went back again the next year, and the next.

We always hoped one day we’d have the opportunity to spend more time there, and finally 6 years later we’ve bought our perfect holiday home. Our beautiful rainbow daughter will get to experience life near the coast, and we hope many other families will be able to enjoy it too.
