Kingfisher by Helen Coleman in the UK

Common Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis): This European, North African & Asian species of Kingfisher has a wingspan of 25cm (9.8in). They nest in burrows close to lake edges or in riverbanks and defend their feeding territories from other kingfishers. World Record flight by a bird (Bar-tailed Godwit) recorded a couple of years ago.

WORLD RECORD BIRD FLIGHT:

The longest recorded migration by a bird, without stopping for food or rest was recorded in 2022 at a whopping 13,560 km (8,425 miles) tracked by a satellite-tagged, juvenile Bar-tailed Godwit (Limosa lapponica baueri) that flew directly across the Pacific Ocean from Alaska, USA, to Tasmania, Australia. Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea): A 102cm (40in) species of Heron, native to Europe, Asia and parts of Africa. Nesting in social "heronries" usually near the top of large, tall trees. They feed on a variety of fish, often sitting still for a long time before striking with its powerful bill, they will also take amphibians and terrestrial mammals such as voles. A mature leafy tree produces as much oxygen in a season as 10 people inhale in a year. A 100-foot tree, 18 inches diameter at its base, produces 6,000 pounds of oxygen. On average, one tree produces nearly 260 pounds of oxygen each year.

Long-tailed Tit (Aegithalos caudatus): A 13cm (5.1in) small bird with a long tail that is native to Asia & Europe. This bird nests in habitat with good shrub cover. It is a very social bird & can be seen foraging for insects in groups, birds keeping in communication with each other with short "chirps". They mainly forage in mixed or deciduous woodland.
