WHO ARE ‘THE FRIENDS’? We are a group of enthusiastic parents, guardians and friends of the school. We raise funds for various projects to benefit each of our children. We are also a social society organising social occasions for parents to get together. SERVE We can be spotted at all major sporting events literally serving teas, cakes, bacon rolls, ice-creams and even Pimms! Watch out for us at a

variety of sporting events, school concerts and Prize Day. SUPPORT We support the school at New Parent Receptions and Open Days, chatting with prospective parents and pupils about the school by giving a parents’ perspective. We also work closely with the school’s College Development Office, promoting the school at various exhibitions, and we are working with the school’s Careers Department, supporting their Work Experience database. SELL We can be found selling our souvenirs and gifts after the school’s Carol Service at Christmas and again on Prize Day. Beautifully engraved Welsh Crystal wine goblets, tumblers, pewter Tankards and limited edition prints of the 2007 Art Prize winning entry are all available and make delightful leaving gifts or mementos of CCB. SOCIAL We organise great social occasions!

Girls hockey is on fire at Brecon! Following the girls U16 National Championship win yesterday today the girls U14 team went unbeaten in all their matches to win the U14 National Championship.

Massive congratulations to all.

Last night the Friends ran a seven course Gourmet Dinner at The Bear in Crickhowell, with the support and incredible generosity of Steve and Sam. The evening raised a whopping £4,745! Thanks to everyone who attended and to those who won the auction prizes we hope you enjoy them!

What an incredible achievement!!!

This weeks team of the week!
Aimee and Milly took part in the finals of the Oxford University Schools' Debating Competition on Saturday, a truly global event, with over 100 teams bought together from three continents.
Reaching the final of such a prestigious competition was certainly a goal achieved, and one the girls will not forget. Whilst we did not win (the honour fell to Webber Academy, from Calgary, Canada), Aimee and Milly represented the school and themselves in an exemplary fashion. Well done girls!

The Friends will be at the CCB 7’s tomorrow selling bacon and sausage rolls, along with a selection of cakes, soft drinks and barista style coffee.

We will be on the main quad from 10am and don’t worry about missing any of the action as we will have a 15sq meter screen streaming all the action live!
