She hatched 4 peachicks (not to be confused with chickpeas as our kids keep calling them!) and is clearly a great mum as she’s kept them all alive and they’re growing well. MENU :
Old Rectory House home reared lamb koftas (Moroccan inspired) served with minted yoghurt and flat breads.
Cheese (copious amounts of cheese!), onion and tomato quiche made with Old Rectory House free range eggs. This went down a storm!
Couscous salad with fresh herbs, feta cheese, red onion, tomato and cucumber.
Roasted vegetables (beetroot, butternut squash, peppers, onions and garlic) with a balsamic glaze.
Fresh coleslaw with shredded cabbage, carrot, red onion and apple with a yoghurt dressing.
Then for a sweet treat to finish, a stack of chocolate brownies and lemon drizzle cake.
We had a super talented guest here for a spa day and stay in one of our shepherd huts this weekend and she produced this amazing sketch of Charlotte’s Hut! Thank you Marion!
Would you like to work with this view? Our amazing housekeeper/cleaner is off to be a lawyer in September and we’re looking for a replacement. It’s usually a couple of days a week and days/times are flexible so would be perfect for someone juggling school runs or childcare. Very competitive pay and a lovely working environment as part of our small family team. Let us know if you’re interested or know anyone who might be!
After the brilliant success of our Wim Hof method workshop earlier this month, we are holding another date on 20th September 1pm - 5pm. We heard some inspiring stories at the last workshop on how people are using cold water therapy and breathwork to make huge positive changes to their lives, both physical and mental. The event is hosted by Sara from who is utterly brilliant.
We are also launching our new wellbeing evening that same day 6.30pm-8.30pm which we are hoping will become a regular monthly event. This will take place in our woodland sanctuary where guests can use our amazing sauna, wood-fired hot tub, ice bath, drench bucket, fire pit and we will provide food cooked in our outdoor kitchen. It will be a great opportunity to meet like minded people and get some inspiration on your wellness journey. If anyone wants to come to both events that day you are welcome to use our pool and hot tub between the workshop ending and the wellbeing evening starting.

After being awarded a Green Tourism Gold Award last year for our commitment to sustainability, we are determined not to rest on our laurels as we know we still have many areas where we can improve. We have just installed our first electric car charging station in the hope of encouraging more green journeys to and from Old Rectory House. We have also just taken delivery of our first electric car to reduce our own carbon footprint. Our recent spa expansions have greatly increased our energy usage and our next project is to install solar panels and become as energy self sufficient as possible this year 💚

When we first conceived the idea of building our wellbeing studio last year it was our dream to eventually be hosting events like this. We are incredibly fortunate to have met Haley and it’s so rewarding to see this beautiful space being properly utilised.
Here is Haley’s description of this Sunday’s workshop… This nourishing workshop places a huge emphasis on nervous system regulation and restoration. You will float out of the room with a sense of having really nurtured yourself, yet feeling completely grounded in your Being at the same time. The whole session will have a meditative and slow quality; stillness is a radical act of self-care.
