Thanks so much, Richard & Dave 🙏🏻. Another lovely review from some fabulous guests. We always try hard to go the extra mile and ensure that people have the best time when they stay at Asker Lodge - and it’s the little things that can make the difference. Whether it’s the tasty local treats in our welcome hamper, the recommendations we give on places to visit and where to eat, to the contemporary interior design enhanced by quirky preloved and vintage finds - we think this all adds up to a comfy, cosy and memorable stay. A huge thank you to all the fabulous guests that stayed with us in 2023 and a very Happy New Year to all our guests, new and returning, who plan to stay with us in 2024. It’s been a great 12 months, with so many lovely people coming from far (Japan!) and wide to stay with us. We’ve learned a lot, enjoyed reading your wonderful reviews, worked really hard and met amazing people in Bridport who’ve helped us run a tight ship and keep guests happy. We’ve been so pleased to retain our Superhost status, as well as being named an Airbnb ‘Guest Favourite’. So here’s to an exciting and successful 12 months ahead. Happy Hogmanay!! 🎉🎉.

It’s not called the Jurassic coast for nothing. Walk along any of the beaches close to Asker Lodge and you have the chance of finding fossils. We found this on where someone found an ichthyosaur skull last week! You can do walks/talks with experts who can show you what to look for. Just let us know if this is of interest when you’re staying and we can help you set one up. 🦖🦕

We get lovely comments from a lot of our guests about our quirky decor and objet d’arts. We’ve even had people buy pieces from us as they’ve liked them so much! So what’s our secret? It’s Bridport! We are so lucky to have a Vintage Quarter with lovely shops bursting with wonderful, unique items to find. We have a Vintage Market once a month and antique shops down South Street. Not to mention great vintage and bric-a-brac stalls every week at Bridport Saturday Market. Then, there’s the Auction House if you want to make an event of buying your vintage and antique items. There is always something unexpected and exciting to find. So if you like the look of our style (first 5pics), come and stay at Asker Lodge (link to book in bio). Or come and stay to find your own treasures!

Bridport is a little foodie gem, with fab restaurants like , , and , and apparently Michelin starred restaurant is opening a new venture in town 🎉. But if you want to cook for yourself there are also amazing places to get the tastiest, freshest ingredients. Case in point is in where you can get seafood and fish that was still in the sea a few hours before. Highly recommended.

If you enjoy walking, come and stay with us at Asker Lodge. We are located directly on the , the 625 mile escape route taken by King Charles I in 1651 after his defeat in the Battle of Worcester. We’re also a 2.5 mile amble through a nature reserve and across meadows down to the beach at . And from there, you can take on the South West Coastal Path made so famous by Raynor Winn in her book, the Salt Path. . . And if that’s not enough there is a myriad of foodpaths and bridleways crisscrossing the countryside. One we found this week was truly surprising and spectacular as you can see in these photos. A walk around an iron age fort at Eggardon Hill, a 10-15 minute drive from us. The views across the hills to the sea are stunning, and the man made structures built 2500 years or so ago are mind boggling. . . So if you fancy some adventures on foot on some of the best paths in the country, come and stay at Asker Lodge. We have some unexpected availability in March and have reduced our prices. Link to book is in bio. . .

We’re constantly on the look out for fab places to recommend to our guests. Today’s discovery is in . Delicious small plate food and scrumptious cakes served up in your own private train carriage or an old London bus. Plus there’s a great shop with really interesting foodie products. Here's a little photographic tour around Asker Lodge. We have a double and single bedroom upstairs and a lovely open kitchen diner downstairs.

We are working our way towards eco accreditation which means there are little details you may notice, and others that you won't.

So this means we provide luxury environmentally-friendly toilet paper and cleaning products, some of the lights are motion sensitive (so they don't get left on), recycling is available, our welcome pack features local and Fair Trade items, plus there is a log burner with fully stocked log box so you can get cosy naturally. There are lots of plants around inside and outside in the private patio garden and Asker Lodge Bridport is decorated with quirky finds we've made at antique shops and flea markets.

We think it all adds up to a unique, comfortable stay, walking distance to Bridport centre and close to the Jurassic Coast, where you can also feel good about travel.
