As well as our fab farm shop and cafe on site, we also run a market stall in Bridport on Saturdays. Bridport Market is AMAZING with three long streets of independent stalls every Saturday and Wednesday. There is usually live music in Bucky Doo Square and tables and chairs outside cafes and restaurants. Our cottages have Friday changeover so you don’t miss it!

The cottage gardens looking lovely in the sunshine. Both kitchens look out onto the lawn so it’s easy to supervise the children (unless you can actually get them to help with the cooking/washing up 😆). Dappled shade from the weeping birch and picnic tables for al fresco eating.

Bringing your bike(s) on holiday? We love this bike ride from Chard-Ilminster (4.5 miles each way) and have done it with our kids at all ages. Free parking at Chard reservoir and mostly off-road sustrans route with a pub at the end of the route in Ilminster - what’s not to like? Granary and Dairy Cottages are less than three miles to the nearest beaches, with lots more within an short car drive away. From fossils at Lyme Regis and pebbles at Budleigh Salterton to the gorgeous Chesil Beach and sandy gorgeousness of Weymouth. Something for everyone, whatever the season.

Torchlight Procession - a Bridport tradition on the day after the carnival. A lot of torches, a walk to West Bay in the dark and a big bonfire in the beach. What’s on in Bridport July…

We are pleased to announce that our Saturday night main stage headliners are Ferocious Dog!

Ferocious Dog are a six-piece band who deal in a vibrant vein of Celtic-folk infused punk rock, comfortably slotting in between Billy Bragg and The Levellers. However, like The Levellers and New Model Army (also listed as an influence), Ferocious Dog have a broad spectrum of influences, tied together by the band’s left-leaning convictions and a shared desire to communicate through music.

The band has headlined tours of the UK and Europe, performed in Kenya and Dubai, festivals such as Bearded Theory, Alchemy, Deerstock, Farmer Phil's Festival, Splendour, Lowlands (Netherlands), Glastonbury Festival and Beautiful Days among many others.

I'll kick off with Weymouth Beach (pictured). We don't get there that often but whatever time of year it is a beautiful place - sandy beach, shallow sea, regency buildings, M&S practically on the beach (for when you need a Percy Pig 😉) and loads to do.

West Bay beach: end of term 2022. A ten-minute drive or an hour leisurely walk from the cottages. There are some great food kiosks, restaurants and shops all year round - the funfair comes every August too.

Fantastic news!

BRIDPORT FOOD & BEER FESTIVAL IS BACK! The Bridport Local Food Group and Bridport Round Table are excited to announce that the much- loved Bridport Food & Beer Festival will be back at Asker Meadows on Saturday 18 June. The Bridport Round Table will as usually kick off on the Friday evening, 17 June at 6 pm.

The event is the focal point for the Bridport Food Festival fortnight which will be running from Sunday 12 – 24 June to celebrate everything delicious in the Bridport area. During the fortnight there is a mouth-watering range of events being planned. Local food producers, growers, farmers, cafes, restaurants, bars and vendors are being invited to showcase what they do; hands-on cooking session for local schools are being organised, as well as lots more foodie-based entertainment.

🎆🎇 Bonfire By The Beach is back on Saturday 30th October from 4:30pm and here's a photo I took of the fantastic fireworks display a few years ago!

This year's event is better than ever...

- Fireworks at 8pm
- Bonfire lit at 6pm
- Live music 5pm to 9pm
- Funfair
- Food outlets and outside bar
- Free bus from Bridport to West Bay
- Free parking in West Bay (donations welcome)

Well worth a visit if you are staying at our farm, only 30 minutes from the cottages and a lovely day out.

After hearing about a second fatality at Lulworth Cove in as many weeks, we just want to remind people of the dangers at the beach here!

Just take a minute to read the safety signs at the beach before heading out to keep yourselves safe! We are open daily for safety advice and tide times, and the fossil warden is also out on the beaches patrolling to give advice too!
