Autumn Walks….. 🍁🍂🍄

A favourite time of year down here in the valley, so peaceful, rich with colours, 🍃🍂🍁 and some absolute beautiful scenery. 🌳🌲

This walk starts at Hulme End, at our lovely tearoom, incorporating Wetton Mill & Thors Cave, then back round to Hulme End to finish off for tea & cake or a light lunch. 🫖
1. Parking at The Tea Junction, Hulme End, free parking if you use the tearoom, (either before your journey or after). Public toilets aswell.
This is the starting point for the beginning of The Manifold Trail.
2. Walking along the track, for around 1.5 miles you will come to Swainsley Tunnel, go through the tunnel.
3. After the tunnel, still along the track, after around 1 mile you will come to Wetton Mill. An ideal stop for refreshments, outdoor seating by the river.
4. Along the track a little more, around 1.5miles will bring you to the bottom of Thors Cave.
This is a sharp, incline, so make sure you have good walking boots on. 🥾 🌳
5. Once you have visited the cave, you can return your journey back along the trail to Hulme End, or carry on into the village of Wetton. (Map advised).
6. Once you are back down onto the trail, back to the tunnel, through the tunnel take right onto the right, this very quiet country lane takes you back round the Hulme End but includes the bottom of Ecton Copper Mine, one of the richest copper mines in the world.
7. Back into Hulme End for a well deserved slice of scrummy cake and a coffee or tea. 🫖
