Spotted the first lamb of the year in the fields behind the cottage.

Guests can access the old railway line (now a cycle track) which runs behind the terraced cottages via the private residents’ access.

No motorised vehicles are allowed on the cycle track making it ideal for children and dogs 😊

18 Parkside

18 Parkside was my home before I was married, and I loved it! It’s situated in a hamlet of a dozen or so neighbours, but the fields in front and behind makes it feel truly rural, and with the added bonus of private access onto the cycle path that runs behind the row of cottages, it was an ideal home! I spent many a happy afternoon walking my German Shepherd, Dylan, or cycling towards Ennerdale along the path, once the railway for the quarry workers.

However, when I got married, I left my cosy wee cottage and moved into a Victorian townhouse, which we’ve filled with a succession of children (6 in all). 18 Parkside became a second home for housing visiting family and friends.

We decided the cottage and its location was too good to keep for a select few, so we upgraded and turned it into a lovely holiday cottage. We love children and dogs, so both are welcome to come and stay at 18 Parkside. Oh, and well-behaved adults can stay too!
