Exploring Ireland Day 6
Our guests thoroughly enjoyed their time in the vibrant city of Dublin, wandering through historic streets, strolling along the river Liffey, and of course sampling the Guinness.
Our tour continued, we began by collecting our guests from their Dublin hotel, eager to embark on another day of exploration, we had an exciting day planned for them, venturing into the stunning Irish countryside.
Our first stop: Kilkenny Castle, a true gem of Irish heritage. This castle is the family castle of our guests, the Butlers, earls, marquesses and dukes of Ormond for almost 600 years. The imposing architecture and lush gardens transported our guests to another era as they uncovered the castle's rich history. This impressive fortress, with its grandeur and charm, was like stepping into a fairy tale.
Next up was the legendary Rock of Cashel, a site steeped in myth and history. The medieval structures perched on this limestone hilltop are nothing short of awe-inspiring. The ancient ruins and sweeping views provided a sense of Ireland's deep-rooted past.
We then ventured into the charming town of Cahir, where ancient streets and historic landmarks awaited our guests who had the chance to explore the enchanting Cahir Castle and its surroundings. The stories of battles and royalty echoed through the centuries-old stone walls.
Our day has ended with a relaxing night ahead in Cahir, at the beautiful Cahir House Hotel, where the warmth of Irish hospitality was well received by our Canadian guests.
Stay tuned for more updates as we delve deeper into the heart of The Emerald Isle, exploring its heritage, culture, and natural beauty.

Day 5 : Inveraray Castle, Loch Fyne, St Conan’s Kirk, Oban
Today, we had a fantastic itinerary lined up for our incredible, “Campbells on Tour”, tour, with our Canadian guests.
The first stop was Inveraray Castle, (also recognised as Downton Abbey’s Duneagle Castle), a stately home that serves as the seat of the Duke of Argyll, the head of the Campbell clan.
Our journey continued onwards to Inveraray Jail, where our guests experienced the dark side of Scotland's history. The Campbells, as influential landowners and sheriffs, played a role in maintaining law and order in the region.
Later in the afternoon we drove along the picturesque shores of Loch Fyne, a stunning body of water that holds great significance to the Campbell clan. This loch not only provided them with valuable resources, but it also witnessed their influence in trade and maritime activities, making it an integral part of their heritage.
Our next destination was St. Conan's Kirk, a hidden gem by the shores of Loch Awe. This church, designed by Walter Campbell, showcases the Campbells' artistic and architectural prowess. Although not directly associated with the Campbells, the kirk represents the rich cultural and architectural heritage of the region. It stands as a testament to the artistic legacy that the Campbells and other local clans have contributed to Scotland.
Following on we stopped at Kilchurn Castle, a fortress, a comfortable residence, and later a garrison stronghold, and it contains the oldest surviving barracks on the British mainland. Kilchurn Castle was built in the mid-1400s, and it remained the base of the mighty Campbells of Glenorchy for 150 years.
Wrapping up our journey, we made a stop in the picturesque town of Oban, on the western coast of Scotland.
We returned our guests to the stunning The Brander Lodge Hotel & Bistro for their second night to rest and recharge ready for another day of adventure.
