⛰️ALPE D'HUEZ⛰️ is the grande finale of le Tour de France Femmes today, and it was only a couple of weeks ago that we were supporting some of our clients on this iconic climb🚴‍♂️😁.

Cyclist magazine Issue 155 (September cover date) also focuses on Alpe D'Huez in its Big Ride feature. In our humble opinion, it's not the best climb in the French Alps, but it's certainly one most cyclists want to tick off their bucket list. Our 'new for 2024' NORTHERN FRENCH ALPS 🇫🇷full support road cycling tour has been a resounding success this season, so we're thrilled to bits - it's sure to become a Marmot Classic🤩🚴‍♂️

Last week our group of cyclists explored all the best bits from Lake Geneva to the Three Valleys, taking in TdF climbs such as:

⛰️Col de Joux Plane
⛰️Col des Saisies
⛰️Col de la Colombière
⛰️Col de la Loze, and
⛰️Col de la Tougnète, to name a few.

The grande finale of pedalling on newly surfaced, traffic-free roads linking Val Thorens, Meribel and Courchevel was the icing on the cake😃

Every year we support over 150 clients in climbing this monster, and it's one of the most popular climbs that our clients want to conquer. It's both beautiful and brutal, but we've never failed to see a smile on the face of a cyclist at the summit, no matter what the weather conditions! 🌧️😰

Our flexible pace cycling tour of SLOVENIA also pops into ITALY and AUSTRIA, and it got off to a great start earlier this week🚴‍♂️⛰️

Day 2 saw our riders tackle the stunning but challenging Vršič Pass. It's 1611m, just under 12km long and has an average of 7% but with a 'cheeky' 9-14% for the 2nd half of it! Oof!💪🥵💥

It's another climbing day on Le Tour de France today. Stage 11 throws up one of our favourite climbs from the Auvergne-Rhone-Alps in the wonderfully varied region of the Massif Central: Puy Mary/Pas de Peyrol (cat 1)🌋💪🚴‍♂️

Our clients tackle this, as well as the Col du Pertus (cat 2) and the Col de Font de Cère (cat 3) on day 4 of the RAID DU MASSIF CENTRAL🇫🇷. It's a big day: 143km with 3200m of ascent🥵

This region is far less visited than the Alps and Pyrenees, and we suggest this is the perfect trip for the cycling connoisseur who might have ticked off some of the big-name cols in the other mountainous regions of France⛰️😁.
