When you go for a paddle and find someone doing it in a kilt.
This guy is a Czech national and is becoming a bit of a legend around Glasgow for his kilted paddles. He’s an interesting guy, having lived in Chicago, US, before moving to The Holyland.
Paddling in a kilt - is it safe?
Well he assures me it’s not an expensive heavy wool kilt so that fills me with joy, as it would way a ton if it got wet. He even keeps his kilt pin on. Bare legs... zero neoprene in sight - minus the shoes. He’s a confident guy and can handle the board. Thank goodness he has a buoyancy vest. Matches his gillie shirt.

If you’re going out in winter dress appropriately and know your limits.
