Today's engagement session runs until 2pm in Unit 7. If you've got a question about the works currently taking place, pop in and ask!

Today sees another of our drop-in sessions for traders, businesses and organisations affected by the works taking place to improve the Market Place in Great Yarmouth. The project management team and representatives from GYBC are on hand to explain the phasing and timings of the revamp and the efforts being taken to minimise the disruption as Tarmac carries out the work. which will see new paving, planters, seating and lighting installed with the aim of improving the experience for shoppers, visitors and traders. The session takes place in Unit 7 of the new market and runs until 2pm, so do pop in if you can.

Due to the building works taking place around the Market Place, our Market Day traders are on the move!

From Wednesday 24 July, you can find the Wednesday traders at the North end of the Market Place. They'll be in the Market car park until works are completed when they will return to the South end.

If you're heading into town to visit the Market today, don't forget the two day traders have moved to the North end in the Market car park while building works take place at the South end.

Due to the building works taking place around the Market Place, our Market Day traders are on the move!

From Saturday 20 July, you can find them at the North end of the Market Place. That's the other side of the covered Market to where they have been. They'll be in the Market car park until the building work is completed when they will return to the South end.

Free to hire, easy to book! ⛱😎

Great Yarmouth Borough Council has announced that beach wheelchairs are now available to book for free at two locations.
The special wheelchairs have large pneumatic wheels which allow them to slide over the sand giving people with limited mobility easy access to the beach without fear of damaging wheelchair wheels or getting stuck in the sand.
One wheelchair is available at Gorleston-on-Sea and one at Great Yarmouth. Bookings can be made up to four weeks in advance via

Works around the market will start next week and we'll be keeping you updated throughout!

The next stage of work on the regeneration of the Market Place in Great Yarmouth is set to begin next week.
The contractors, Tarmac, will be preparing the site over the coming weeks, with work to install new paving, benches, lighting and planters starting on Monday, June 24.
Tarmac has a carefully planned schedule to minimise disruption and pedestrian access and routes for deliveries will be maintained while the work takes place so that businesses and traders can continue to operate as smoothly as possible.
Once complete, the de-cluttering and re-landscaping is designed to create a high-quality environment, encouraging people to spend more time in the Market Place area supporting shopping, dining and other activities, while preserving the historic character of the town centre.
