Another busy but amazing week or so, after celebrating my birthday last Sunday.

I’ve been working on making sure all my clients who depart in the next 4 weeks are all up to date and ready to go.

I’ve also been working on some beautiful honeymoon itineraries and family holidays for clients who’ve decided to get away for the summer break - can you believe the kids break up in 2 weeks? 😳

🥵 it’s been a rough one this week…

🔌 🪫 power cuts at Manchester Airport caused chaos.
😢 we’ve seen more cancellations after the failure of a large tour operating group, affecting a major bedbank.

🦸🏻‍♀️ pleased to report in both instances disaster has been averted and clients rebooked with no interruptions to holidays or out of pocket expenses.

✈️ I’ve also been working hard putting together travel packs for all my clients who travel in the next 4 weeks and making sure they are ready to go. Making sure they have all the latest travel advice for their destinations.

Let’s hope i can find some time to start getting myself ready for my own holiday 😬 🧳 I’ve not even thought about packing yet 😂

Just wanted to pop on for an update and a huge THANK YOU again to all my amazing friends and clients for their messages of love and support.

❤️‍🩹 My dads surgery finally takes place today for his bypass which, there can be no doubt, is a big operation- but he has a fantastic heart team and he was moved to Wythenshawe Hospital last night which is the heart and lung centre for the north west. He’s in good hands and we can’t wait to get him back home with us.

I don’t think anyone will be surprised that I’m taking the full day today away from work to support my mum.

Everything that’s happened over the last few weeks has also made me take stock of life - and I’ll be issuing a further update over the weekend which will set out what my business as usual hours will look like from the start of May 2024.

It’s been a long few weeks. Being a business owner when life’s happening all around you is hard some days. Lots of people talk to me like I’m an employee, that I have set hours and agreed contract with guaranteed earnings to match.

I don’t.

I’m a mum to two teen girls with all the usual stuff that happens in every one else’s day to day, with the added responsibility of being every role that’s required to run a successful business from sales, admin, marketing, customer service, and all the rest.

It’s a lot of pressure but I wouldn’t change the choice to own and operate my own business for the world.

In the 3 weeks since my dads heart attack he’s been stuck in hospital with things all up in the air and we’ve not known what’s happening day to day. He’s been shunted from pillar to post moved wards and beds in the middle of the night and the toll it’s taken on him and my mum has been unbelievable.

As a family it’s impacted us all with the worry and frustration that goes along with something like this.

Sometimes my replies have been slightly delayed - and I’m truly sorry for anyone who’s felt that this has been frustrating for them.

From 10am my email and WhatsApp out of office replies will have all the information on who to contact in an emergency over today and the weekend.

Quick update on our one & only. We’re all so grateful as a family for all the messages of support and love. Especially from my clients who have holidays booked and I’ve barely been available. Your patience has been so much appreciated whilst we concentrate on my dad.

He’s stable. He’s recovering well but needs further surgery. Until they get in there, they don’t know what they will need to do. Current position is a full bypass minimum and they will know more once the surgeons can see what they are dealing with.

Right now he’s in Manchester Royal Infirmary- they need to move him to Wythenshawe where his heart team are, but they are struggling- they’ve currently got an infection outbreak in the ICU - so dads better off where he is now, as the post operative care is compromised.

So we wait.

He’s picked up a small infection in hospital but nothing that compromises his care or the op in general so that’s good.

Thanks to everyone again for their messages. We’re all staying hopeful and on the positive side. Can’t wait to get Big Col home. My dad - my all ###

A quick update before we return from our hollibobs in beautiful Tunisia ☀️🏖️🛫🍹

🏝 Ok folks, so I have less than 24 hours before we head down to Gatwick for our flight out to beautiful 🏝 #StLucia - and I’ve not even started packing 🧳 😱 So Im now out of the office, my wonderful friend Jill, who also owns her own travel business and is part of the Travel Counsellors family will be keeping an eye on my clients who are currently enjoying their holidays overseas. So I know they’re in good hands. I’d also like to thank my mum for being the glam grandma she is and taking care of our beautiful girls whilst we are away.
