Today we visited the National Portrait Gallery in London to go and see the original portrait of the Brontë sisters. The portrait was painted by Bramwell Brontë around 1834 and as you can see in the photograph he painted over himself as it has been told he didn’t like his portrait that he painted. It was fabulous to see these original paintings. You can see a copy of the family portrait in the Brontë Parsonage if you visit whilst in Haworth 💖 Fascinating to think this famous family lived in the beautiful village of Haworth. Another reason why I love the place! ❤️

I would highly recommend the Brontë Parsonage Museum when you visit Haworth. So much fascinating history about the Brontë family and their life spent in this beautiful village! The museum is set in their family home. A few pics but don’t want to spoil the museum for you! Well worth a trip…you won’t be disappointed!

Whilst enjoying our first proper stay at the cottage, we had a lovely walk over to The Tree House Bar and Kitchen. (Through the park opposite the cottage and then kind of opposite the Haworth Train Station). We had some delicious food and the cocktails were devine…proper ‘holiday vibes’ cocktails! I can definitely recommend the Pina Colada! We said ‘we’ll come back here again’ and we did…the very next day!! 😂Treehouse Bar & Kitchen thank you!! 🍹💛🌳xx

🩵The Brontë Waterfalls🩵

Whilst staying at the cottage last weekend, we took a walk over to find the Brontë Waterfalls. We enjoyed a picnic by the waterfall, found the Brontë Chair - a stone in the shape of a chair where the Brontë sisters would sit and write their masterpieces back in the day. And of course chatted to all the sheep we met along the way! What a way to spend a morning! Just perfect 🩵

Would highly recommended Haunted Haworth ghost tours! We had a great walk and thoroughly enjoyed all the spooky stories along the way! Don’t worry-non relating to the The Snug on the Cobbles 😂👻

Well today we had LOTS to do in the cottage, it was a busy old day! We have been desperate to go to the ‘Haworth Old Post Office’ for a bite to eat and a drink and my goodness it was amazing! The old post office counter is still there and this is where the Brontë Sisters would post off their manuscripts of their famous books back in the day. The charm and history of the place has been preserved beautifully…there is even the original drawer that was the cashier drawer which has old pennies, stamps and letters in it. Just magical! Oh and the caramel hot chocolate was on another level! Definitely one to visit during your stay! ❤️

What a fabulous weekend in Haworth for the 1940’s weekend. It was delightful to see everyone dressed up and enjoying the sunshine. The best bit was doing a few jobs in the cottage with the front door wide open listening to the live singer and watching all the characters walk past in all their 1940’s glory! Just gorgeous! LOVE Haworth! ❤️

We were up bright and early today and headed over to Haworth to our gorgeous The Snug on the Cobbles for a day of jobs! I have no idea how it happened but we ended up exploring instead! 😂🙈 We had a beautiful walk through Central Park which is just opposite the cottage and then followed the chug of the steam train and ended up at the beautiful Haworth train station. Then a little wander down the Main Street and enjoyed a yummy lunch at Cobbles and Clay. What a lovely day! We quickly painted part of the outside wall before we left!!! 🤣🤣🤣

May the 4th be with you today and always! Look at the visitor that popped by The Snug on the Cobbles today on Star Wars day too! It was the steam punk festival today in Haworth and the cobbles were bustling with singing, music and fancy dress!

Haworth is steeped in history but is most famous for being the home of the Brontë family. Top Withins near Haworth was the inspiration for Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. The Parsonage Museum was the former home of the Brontë family and visitors can step back in time and imagine life as it was for the Brontë sisters. One of the many reasons why Haworth is loved by so many people and is also known as The Brontë Village 🌸🥰🌸
