We have always dreamt of owning a little house by the sea, a place to escape to where you could enjoy the beauty of the ocean, swim, walk, catch the sunset.. the simple pleasures of life enjoyed with family and friends.

I spent my childhood holidays in my Grandmother’s 1930’s chalet Near Minehead in Somerset, I loved those seemingly endless summers, the freedom of wandering down to the beach, cricket games, card games on the rainy days. The simple joy of those days never left me.

When we found the chalets at Riviere Towans we realised it was a place that captured the essence of all those old school seaside holidays and we could also indulge our love of renovating old properties and vintage - perfect!

We bought Broadview about 8 years ago and even though it was draughty, cold and needed lots of work, we loved it. Some of the original 1940’s cabin was left, including the sash windows which they had recycled from a victorian house in Hayle! We spent 2 years rebuilding it slowly, using all the old doors, windows and bits and pieces we had collected over the years and enjoying it with our children.
