Cornwall last night ✨

What an incredible experience! It started off with a lot of cloud, but after a few hours the cloud parted and Cornwall was treated to an incredible auroral display! I could clearly see the red colour and rays with my eyes, it was unbelievably vibrant and bright! It was so magical to witness, and is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

I hope everyone managed to catch a glimpse of the northern lights. If not, and you want to see them, let me know so I can send you some recommendations 😊

Carn Brea Castle in Cornwall is a 14th-century granite and stone castle, but excavations at the site show evidence of a previous settlement that is 6000 years old.

The castle started out life as a chapel built in 1397 and was used as a hunting lodge during the Elizabethan times. In 1790 it was turned into a castle and in the early part of the 19th century it was used as a beacon for ships, the 750ft castle was easily visible from sea.

Legend has it that the rocks beneath where Carn Brea Castle now stands were once the home of a great giant who grew old and laid down to die and turned to stone.

Today the castle is a restaurant and while it’s a trek to get there you won’t be disappointed as the views from the castle are famous for being stunning.
