Chi An Mor means house by the sea. We are just starting out so this is an ongoing development and feedback is welcome. We wish it to be a home from home and are doing our best to keep prices down with the support and consideration of those who stay. To this end we are trialing a "leave as you wish to find" We have a selection of towel’s bedding that if used we ask to wash and dry and beds left for

next visitor, also any of the basic food replaced. We can save over £100 a stay doing this. Wherever possible we will avoid you having to stick to traditional arrival and leaving times so you aren't stuck in traffic. The 3 bedrooms consist of a room that can be a Super King-sized bed or can be split into a Twin. Bedroom 2 has a double bed and the 3rd a single bed with a truckle bed that can be pulled out if needed. There is a spacious kitchen diner; the table sits 6 though we have another identical table we have put up to sit a snug 8. The lounge is also a good size and consists of a 2 and 3 seater sofa. We have a grass area at the front that can be driven or parked on if extra parking is needed. Although dog friendly we take no responsibility for them, any damage must be covered by the owners. We have wonderful neighbors and your consideration will be greatly appreciated especially if like our dogs they are a bit vocal.

What is a sand dune

Sand dunes or Towans as they are called in Cornish, is a hill or ridge that is beyond the reach of the tide. Dunes are formed by sand that is blown inland from the beach by a strong onshore wind.

It is then caught up on plants and grasses growing on the beach. As the wind pushes the sand around it covers the plants, their root system stabilises the sand and helps it to build. Fast growing marram grass tends to be the main grass seen growing on the dune.

The dune grassland habitats are home to a lot of wildlife, rabbits, butterflies, glowworms even adders, just to name a few.

The dunes are ever changing shaped by the wind and rain but even though they seem substantial they are fragile and easily damaged.

The more people who walk up and down the dunes or dig holes loosens the sand, then the wind moves the loosened sand to a different area or it even causes a sand slide down to the beach so constantly changing the shape and structure of the dunes.

When I was a child and spent time in Hayle towans and loved playing in the Dunes. Unfortunately with so much corrosion and changing landscapes along our precious coastline, you have to be so careful of the dangers.

Kind regards,
Penny,
KWT
