We are so excited to launch the new Cabalva Perry!
This beautiful Single Estate Perry is now being sold in local shops and restaurants in Hay on Wye.

Twenty years ago we re-planted three orchards on the farm. Collecting only fallen fruit for maximum ripeness, we mill and press, before letting nature do it's work.
A few months later and our single estate perry is bottled and ready to drink.

Our perry is light, easy going and half the alcohol level of wine.

The perry is available in two sizes 75cl and 25cl.

If you're looking for pottery classes, we've lots going on at Cabalva Ceramics this summer. As well as our ten-week term classes we have workshops on raku, throwing, hand building and decoration.

Set in a walled kitchen garden close to Hay-on-Wye we can also arrange bespoke pottery experiences for groups up to 12.

Cabalva Winter Angling Safari
Here’s a unique opportunity to fish the exclusive Cabalva Estate for 3 days, whilst staying in the spectacular Cwm Pelved House, overlooking the Wye Valley.
Whether it’s winter chub, dead baiting pike, trotting for grayling, or maybe a winter barbel, you choose!

The Cabalva stretch of the River Wye is unique in the fact it has never been open to day tickets and to this day maintains its exclusivity for guests staying on the Estate. Indeed, it is only in recent years that fishing has taken place again after being stopped in the 1990s for conservation reasons.

A lovely couple of days with old friends on the .
We love specific days where someone wants to a achieve a particular goal, but when they say ‘We just want to do some fishing on the Wye’ it gives us a wonderful blank canvas to work with.
We’ve fished with fly rods and light spinning set ups to catch plenty of trout and seen plenty of other species on our travels.
Great company, varied fishing, good food (including a pub lunch! 🍻) it’s been the perfect way to start what will be our busiest ever summer on the River.
Seeing a lot of mooching around. Can’t wait for June 16th now!

Spring is the perfect time to go foraging for wild garlic, it can be whipped up into a delicious soup or pesto.
The leaves and flowers are edible. Young leaves are delicious added to soups, sauces and pesto. Leaves appear in March and are best picked when young. The flowers emerge from April to June and can add a potent garlic punch to salads and sandwiches.
You will find an abundance of wild garlic growing on the banks at Cabalva Mill cottage.
We would love you to help yourselves to this delicious plant and have a go at making pesto or just adding the leaves to a salad.
I have left you some recipe cards and a leaflet on how to identify it.
