HOLDING HANDS HORNSEA 1PM

To celebrate our Monarch’s Platinum Jubilee we wanted to create an event which would allow our little seaside town to stand out from the rest.
One of the groups working with Hornsea Town Council, came up with a fantastic idea.

‘Holding Hands Hornsea’ - 'join hands together as we show solidarity as a community and all come together to celebrate her majesty’s reign for the last 70 years.

This one off spectacular event will take place around the outside of the beautiful Hall Garth Park and will be captured by drone.

Following the Holding Hands everyone is encouraged to come together in Hall Garth Park for a community picnic. There will be community stalls in the park as well as rides and live entertainment.

Hornsea Carnival is such a great weekend for residents and visitors alike.

A fabulous parade through the streets and a funfair, stalls, live music etc. over the course of the weekend of 22-24th July.

Sound advice ….

**Coastal safety***

Without a doubt, the East Riding coast boasts some of the most spectacular scenery in the country, but enjoying it is not without peril! Here are some tips on how to stay safe:

1. Do not walk near cliff edges and do not climb on up or down the cliffs
2. Keep dogs on leads when walking on the clifftops
3. If you go into the water, do not go out of your depth. Remember that some beaches suddenly become steep and you may not be able reach the bottom
4. Do not take inflatables onto the sea, especially if there is an offshore wind
5. Wear something on your feet to prevent injury from standing on sharp objects or weever fish
6. Do not walk close to the cliff bottom as the area experiences regular rock falls
7. If you have a barbecue, make sure it is fully extinguished and allowed to cool, then put it in a litter bin.
8. Do not approach wildlife. It is perfectly normal for seals and birds to be on the beach, if you think they are injured or unwell call British Divers Marine Life Rescue on 01825 765546
9. Remember your social distancing
10 Put all your rubbish in a bin, if the nearest one if full find another or take it home

And finally, if you see someone in difficulty call 999 and ask for the Coastguard

Lambing weekends are coming up at Sledmere!

RAG'n'BONE MAN TO PERFORM AT BRIDLINGTON SPA IN JUNE

TICKETS GO ON SALE FOR THE GIG THIS WEDNESDAY

Some entertainment news this morning - Rag‘n’Bone Man is the latest name confirmed to be heading to Bridlington Spa this year for a gig on Monday 27th June.

Neo-blues and soul singer Rory Graham, aka Rag‘n’Bone Man, is an English singer-songwriter known for his distinctive baritone voice.

Having won the 2017 BRIT’s ‘British Breakthrough Act’ and receiving the BRIT’s Critics’ Choice Award in the same year, Rag‘n’Bone Man cemented his success with the record-breaking release of his four-time platinum number one album Human and a further BRIT Award for ‘British Single’ for the title track in 2018.

The album has been recognised internationally, earning Rory sell-out tours and festival appearances around the globe.

Subsequent side-projects include the monster hit collaboration track ‘Giant’ with Calvin Harris.

His sophomore album, ‘Life by Misadventure’ was released in 2021 and was preceded by two singles: "All You Ever Wanted" and 'Anywhere Away from Here', a duet with American singer Pink.

The album debuted at number one.

Rag‘n’Bone Man follows the recent announcements that The Kooks, McFly, The Enemy, Remix Presents Cream and Gabrielle will play at Bridlington Spa this year.

There is also another big name set to be announced shortly.

Tickets are now on sale to Bridlington Spa Membership Holders.

Tickets go on general sale on Wednesday 9 March at 10am.
