We have now simplified our calendar by moving to using only the Air BnB calendar (see link) - this allows you to see availability and prices but you are still able to book direct with us by email or telephone, a slightly cheaper option as it does not include an air bnb service charge, nor a cleaning charge😃

Great news

🚌 The £2 bus fare price cap has been extended until December 2024. This initiative will allow more visitors to enjoy car free travel across Cumbria going into the winter and throughout 2024. It's certainly something worth highlighting in your own marketing activity looking ahead.

Some great advice for our guests with dogs in this very hot weather

How to protect paws on hot pavements
1. Follow the seven-second rule and check the surface for heat before you leave the house.
2. Keep to grass.
3. Walk early in the morning or late in the evening when surfaces are cooler.
4. Invest in a pair of booties to help avoid burning paws.

Great way to enjoy the Buttermere area without the stress of where to park.

The low-cost Buttermere Shuttlebus is running this weekend from Cockermouth, via Lorton to Buttermere. The first bus leaves Cockermouth Main Street at 9.30am, and the last bus leaves Buttermere at 5.10pm. More details and full timetable: http://ow.ly/MgEc50OrPoz

Just a quick reminder about the need for close control of your dogs when visiting the countryside - unless you have total recall at all times dogs should not be allowed off lead, they shouldn't chase anything, not sheep, not birds, not squirrels, rabbits etc. Never mind the terror and loss of life to other animals your dog is also at great risk too - it could get run over, fall over a rock edge, and worst case if chasing among livestock it could get shot.
There are so many lovely dog parks countrywide now that allow perfectly safe off lead exercise, there is no excuse for an out of control dog in the open countryside.

The Stagecoach X4 and 555 both go right past Dancing Gate so it's very easy to hop on the bus!
