Tilly's Barn

Tilly's Barn Holiday barn in amazing surroundings. Whether you're hiking, climbing or simply relaxing by the fire it's a perfect place for getting away from it all.

Tilly's Barn is a holiday barn beyond Stonethwaite in Borrowdale. Perfectly located at the end of the Langstrath Valley, the Barn is an ideal base for walking or climbing. It's rural, but just a short walk to pubs and restaurants. There's a fully equipped kitchen with local slate work-tops and in the sitting room there's an open fire to relax around. The Barn is available for rental all year round.

It's the simple things.

We just love this photo sent to us this week. Taken a few weeks ago it shows the Barn with Eagle Crag behind and the makings of a beautiful sunset.

We've had a busy time spring cleaning the Barn. Have a look at the results of our efforts. Also check out the latest addition to the Tilly's Barn stable - our new rocking horse! (Apologies for the pun)

Even in winter, this is quite some view from your front door. And it's not too shabby in the summer either ;)

Happy New Year from Tilly's Barn!
You'll be pleased to know that the Barn is still there, despite all of the awful weather we've endured over the last weeks. The sitting room has been ankle deep in water a fair few times, but it's all cleared away and we're ready for the new year. The main problem for us was that one of the streams that runs down the fellside behind the barn had become blocked, and so the water had changed its course to run down the track, and was then diverting through the sitting room! Now we love a water feature as much as the next person, but a stream through the Barn seemed a bit like showing off.
So we worked off some of those mince pies by moving some boulders and the stream (and the barn) are back to normal.
Here's the track in drier times.
