That's the upstairs and downstairs staircase complete! Sorry for lack of photos.

Unfortunately for the client when stripping the wallpaper it started pulling parts of the plaster/wall off with it. Meaning extra preparation was needed. We always advise the client to remove the wallpaper before getting a quote by us so we can see the condition of the walls. If you want us to price a job with wallpaper on it can only be a price for a straight forward reskim, any added prep needed will result in the quote changing. It's always best to strip the wallpaper before getting a price from a plasterer.

Do you live in Chapel House or Chapel Park? Or do you have tiles on the outside of your home between the living room and bedroom windows?
There is a good chance you dont have insulation in the cavity of the walls below your bedroom window.. If you notice the room(s) being colder than the rest of the house then we have a solution.
We remove the plasterboard from the wall, apply cavity insulation and then board and plaster the walls better than they were before. We also organised a plumber to remove the radiators and he will be going back to put them back on tomorrow afternoon to put them back on.

A lot of hard work getting put into an old property in Stanley. The ceilings are the most out of shape ceilings we have seen for a while so we are creating new ceilings in 2 of 3 bedrooms and we will be doing the same in the staircase. Some walls are crumbling so we are repairing and preparing the rooms properly ready for plastering to ensure a proper job which will last.

Asbestos ceilings gone! ⛔

Today, we finished up a significant project on New Ridley Road. The client had previously brought in an asbestos removal team to handle ceilings with asbestos-laden artex, as well as removing all coving. Our team then took over, using standard 12.5mm plasterboards from Darnell’s Building & Roofing Supplies in Newburn to board all ceilings.

We also took care of minor wall repairs where coving had been removed, ensuring everything was smooth and ready for the next steps. Our plastering work left the ceilings looking neat and flat, ready for the next phase.

To add a finishing touch, we applied 127 gyproc coving throughout the rooms, enhancing the overall look of the house.

With the client temporarily relocated during our work, we had the space to work efficiently. It was rewarding to see the client return in the evenings to paint the ceilings, watching our work come to life.

On this job we had a lovely older client who did not trust tradesmen and wanted our full names, address, company address etc which we supplied for her. She wanted an invoice with all our details because she did not want to be ripped off. We did everything she requested and she was more than happy with the quote and we agreed on a date for the work to be started.

We started by emptying the full room of personal belongings etc. We had our electrician first fix new sockets and spot lights, then we applied a thick waterproof membrane to the walls, timbered the walls out and applied insulation to lock the warmth in. We plastered the full room, installed a bench and as requested we lifted her washing machine and dryer on the benches so she didn't need to bend down any more. All electrics were 2nd fixed.

Hopefully this makes doing the washing a lot easier and more comfortable with a warm room and appliances at a good working height.

The past few days we've been in High Spen where a client with a lovely big home with 3m high ceilings had cracks appearing. One of the rooms with the bay window had a section of the ceiling removed where water had been getting in.

Two jobs completed today by Danny & Jeff. The first job in Prudhoe was to remove a damaged ceiling where there had been a leak. When removing the damaged ceiling we discovered the joists were not straight and extra work was needed to make every flat and level. We also had a wall in the kitchen to plaster with additional patching working on the staircase.

Our second job was some lovely Venetian work we completed in Denton Burn which I'll add onto the next post.

Thrilled to share that we've had the pleasure of returning to a satisfied customer's home for another project! 🏡 After successfully plastering two bedrooms, we're back to tackle three more. 🛠️

This time, we utilized Bluegrit as PVA to address suction issues with the aging walls. The challenge? Preserving the stunning original coving while overboarding the ceiling with plasterboards. 🤔

Our solution? We left an 8mm gap around the ceiling, beaded the plasterboard edges, and expertly plastered it, creating a subtly modified appearance for the coving. 🎨✨

🏡 New project we have just started in Cramlington this week along side a project in Hexham! A busy busy week 😊

We've transformed the living room by removing the radiator, expanding the entrance, and creating a stunning media wall which separates the stairs and the living room. The original door is history, replaced by a new one at the staircase's base, enhancing that spacious feel. Understairs storage? Yep, it's still there with a new door coming soon! ⚡️

We've added double sockets, hard-wired an electric fire, and rearranged light switches for the revamped layout. Next up: our skilled joiner will add doors, skirting, and architraves after the plastering. Stay tuned for more updates! 🔨
