Further developments with our nesting blackbirds at Greatrock Farm. Yesterday all looking cosy in the nest and today all have flown (our guests staying in Woodcutters witnessed one of the fledglings depart)!

Beautiful, handmade and silky soft alpaca rugs made for us by Watery Lane Alpacas & Studio from our very own alpacas fleece Greatrock Farm Holiday Cottages.
Quality work and excellent communication with a very good turnaround time. Sent off five fleeces (no prep needed) and back came these two beautiful rugs.
Thank you Sophie! We will definitely be back.

So, big day today at Greatrock Farm Holiday Cottages as Berty leaves the girls behind for pastures new. Joining his new gang of boys at Lydford Gorge Alpacas. Thank you Helen for making the move as smooth as possible. So pleased to see he has settled in well at his new home ❤️

Alberto has settled in well - one day old and doing well. New playmate for Maca (who looks enormous compared to him even though she is only a few weeks old herself)!

We welcome a new cria to our herd today - Alberto (or Al for short)! He is so cute ☺️
After shearing this morning - hence the skinny look mum has - he rocked up a few hours later. Both Josie and Alberto are doing well.

So very excited to welcome a new member to our alpaca herd.
Mica gave birth to her this morning - she is absolutely gorgeous! One more cria still to arrive - Josephine is due to give birth very soon.

Our new sculpture arrived today and fits in beautifully at Greatrock Farm. The sculpture is called ‘Wind Beneath my Wings’ and is by Jeremy Mousdale. Jeremy kindly delivered it to us this afternoon - that’s him in the photo with me! Kenneth bought me this for my 50th birthday after we saw it at the sculpture exhibition at RHS Garden Rosemoor.

VIP visit from Rachel Shilston - Inspiring Creativity the artist who created Dartmoorsaic, our otter sculpture here at Greatrock Farm.
Brilliant company this morning and great to meet you and your family. Thank you for your lovely post - we just visited the link and saw the brilliant video of you making our wonderful sculpture! The sculpture looks amazing and could not be a better memorial for my mum Maureen ❤️ - she would have absolutely loved the sculpture and meeting you if she were here 😊.

Just installed our beautiful new sculpture in the gardens at Greatrock Farm in memory of my amazing mum who sadly passed away earlier this year.
‘Dartmoorsaic’ was created by a wonderful artist Rachel Shilston - Inspiring Creativity as part of the Dartmoor National Park Moor Otters Exhibition this summer. After visiting many of the otters we bid for this one at auction as it was our favourite.
We now have quite a collection of Art in our gardens for you to enjoy if you come and stay.

Greatrock Farm is now officially open again!
This is our third year here and we could not be more proud of our business. We have fully renovated all three holiday cottages, created a state of the art games room with home cinema, laid a croquet lawn and pétanque court and built a beautiful seating area for guests with an outdoor kitchen (wood fired BBQ and pizza oven). Our latest venture is the introduction of alpaca walks with our three beautiful girls (Mica, Josephine and Lulu). We cannot thank the owners of Dartmoor llama trekking enough for their help and support in getting us started. We are almost fully booked till the end of September and are already taking bookings for 2022. Here’s to a successful season 😊.
