A great maintenance day - paths re-cut, one pond weeded and some of the bull rushes cut back from the little loch. A beautiful display of foxgloves and thistles.

Wishing all our guests, family and friends a happy and healthy 2024. Thank you for sharing Corrafeckloch with us.

During 2023 we have welcomed another brood of Barn Owl chicks and our first brood of Tawny Owls, we have at least two pine martens visiting for eggs and snacks, a badger and our resident red squirrels, we planted over 200 trees and a new pond to help continue to diversify the habitat for our wildlife.

We have now started on converting the Barn into another amazing place to stay (and for us to live longer term) so 2024 will bring more adventures!

The barn owlets are doing well, all getting braver and flying about the cottage.

The tawny owlets look to be sticking together and found a good resting place on the bird feeder.

We also had a visit from a heron.

Four of our five owlets left in the box looking fantastic in their flight feathers, four now regularly leaving leaving the box, returning to sleep during the day.

Second owlet braving outside the box, and learning to stretch its wings, with a few tumbles along the way - whilst 3rd watches on from box.

1st owlet ventured out of the nest box at 9:30pm yesterday evening, and was under the watchful eye of mum, at 4:30am after exploring the barn, took its first flight back into the nest box to settle down with its 4 siblings for a day time snooze.
