Burghley House was built in the mid-16th century by William Cecil (pronounded ‘Sissel’), Elizabeth I’s chief advisor and Lord High Treasurer.

It was the most magnificent house built during Elizabeth I’s reign, its floorplan designed as a letter ‘E’ in tribute to the queen.

We’ve just collected our fresh lamb for Easter lunch from our friends over in Ayston. We even had a little tour of the farm and saw some of their calves (very narrowly missing one being born) 🐄 🐣 🚜

We are looking forward to seeing our customers at the pop up shop tomorrow, fingers crossed for some easter sunshine! We will have fresh lamb, frozen beef and venison available.
