I couldn't resist this old map today from Deeside Books

Dating back from 1921 - a time before Oil & Gas, The North Breakwater and the extensive development of the harbour. A Simpler time of Herring Fishing & Farming The Railways still existed, the Granite industry was king and the Prisoners would have been working in the Quarries in the 70 year Conquest to build the Breakwaters.

Back in the days of bus driving a trip to Invergordon would end with a mad dash to the next location, followed by a full cleaning of the bus... Now as a tour guide, i get to visit fantastic places, chillout with some ice cream and enjoy the atmosphere of the Highlands. It may have been an early start, but days like this let you appreciate that the whole of Scotland is my office.
