It’s almost unbelievable that just a couple of years ago Callum Beattie, Sandi Thom, The Eves Owen Paul, Katee Kross, Carrie Martin and guitar legend Gordon Giltrap MBE all played in our little paddock.

We raised tens of thousands of pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Case of the lost quarry!

Difficulty: Easy.
Leaving Newlands Lodges Scarborough take a right turn onto the main road and follow the road south to Scarborough and head towards the A64 to York. You’ll see Macdonalds and KFC on your left and BATA on your right as you approach the roundabout. Take the third turning then immediately turn left into the small car park. Usually there’s nobody parked in it. Go through the gate and follow the path for around 100 yards.
Then… you’ll see the remains of an old quarry where gravel was extracted some years ago.

As a visitor you’d never find this hidden gem.
Enjoy its beauty.

The Case of the Smugglers Cove

Difficulty: Easy to moderate
Leaving Newlands Lodges Scarborough take a left turn onto the main road and follow the road for two miles until you reach a signpost for Whitby taking you onto the A171 follow the road and turn right for Robin Hoods Bay. Parking is free from November in both car parks and an early arrival will give you the place just about to yourselves. Smugglers used the tunnel to the side of the slipway on the beach which was until recently linked to the cellars of the houses. A magical place and well worth an explore.
