Episode 7: "Through a Guests Eyes"

Thank you goes to Clare and Donald all the way fae Aberdeen. This is what they got up to and what they had to say:

"Fantastic stay! We only live half an hour away, yet felt like we were on holiday. What a fantastic location especially as we were visiting for the Stonehaven bonfire and fireworks which were definitely worth it. Great directions and easy to access, also the private parking is a bonus. Lovely apartment inside with everything you could need and beautiful beach front views. Lots of interesting books to read, kitchen really well equipped and showered really powerful. Apartment felt lovely and warm even when the heating wasn't on. Slept incredibly well! Such a comfortable bed!
A walk around Dunnottar Woods and a walk to Dunnottar Castle along the coastal path are both worth doing. Can recommend The Marine Hotel, a favorite of ours for great beer and food. The Waterfront Cafe Bar is great for lunch and cake with decent prices.
Thank you for the amazing chocolates and lovely card, very nice touch.

Episode 6: "Through a Guests Eyes"

Special thanks goes to Birgit from Gransee in Germany who stayed with us in September. This is what she had to say about our place and our wonderful town:

"Stonehaven has everything including sunny days and magical moon rises and also sunsets that cast a wonderfully soft orange-pinkish-lavender glow on the sea.

I did a fair bit of walking, 6 to 7 hours a day, in and around town, along the beach, up on the cliffs, towards Dunnottar Castle, and also along Boatie Row and through town, up and down the hills. Each corner presented a different outlook, every road another view, and the rivers that run through it, conveying a feeling of being in the mountains and not at the sea. And then again another road and another corner and, there, the sea again. All those beautiful old houses and villas and mansions and, sometimes hidden, gardens and churches.

Also, the flocks of birds at the shore, covering everything in white, but, then, all of a sudden, they got stirred and filled the air with their voices and the sound of their wings and, then, the air is white too. What a beautiful sight.

Strolling along the shingle beach which never appeared the same due to the tide, was just the best therapy. What a wonderful beach with its almost perfectly formed pebbles; shaped by the sea itself while the different colours of the stones create a world of their own.

I had indeed dinner at the Tolbooth Seafood Restaurant and I am so glad that I did. I had the fish, all three, and it was delicious to say the least. So many intense flavours at the same time without crushing one another.

So, thank you again, for opening up the apartment to holiday seekers. It is a special place indeed. Amid sea life and human life as well and every thing and every being seem to blend in and wonderfully merge together, creating a magical sphere."

Episode 5: "Through a guests eyes"

Thank you to Sonia and Stephen who stayed with us mid September, here's some of their photos taken from our balcony, around Stonehaven, Dunnottar Castle, Aunty Bettys and Stonehaven Golf Club. This is what they had to say:

"Well what can I say, this apartment is AMAZING! It has everything you need for a self catering trip away, even a makeup light which I thought was a great touch! It was spotlessly clean and extremely well presented. The view and location are absolutely stunning! We even seen a pod of dolphins feeding from the living room window, just Wow!
Fantastic hosts, and have clearly put a lot of thought and effort in to property. They gave really clear instructions on how to check in, ect and even had a hard copy of the information pack in the apartment if needed. They left us some milk and coffee ect as well as a lovely card wishing me happy birthday with lots of great recommendations for food and things to do. They also left some treats for the dog and some gorgeous chocolates for us humans, these all went down a treat! Thanks!
I would definitely return here and honestly cannot recommend this place enough. It was just perfect!"

"Thank you for a beautiful place to stay. Thanks for all the great suggestions in the welcome card. We really enjoyed Carron to Mumbai and the views from Stonehaven Golf Club! The seals up on Newbugh were amazing to see. We drove up to Ballater and Balmoral Castle then over to Inverness and back around to Stonehaven yesterday. We hiked Craigendarroch, visited the Distillery Royal Lochnagar and got to see some of the highlands. We truly had a great time and the condo was a perfect home base."

Woohoo! We have climbed the ranks and are now in the ever so elusive 1% club!

What does this mean? Well quite simply, it means you would be staying at an AirBnB that ranks in the top 77,000 properties across the world out of 7.7 million, based on guest satisfaction. You would also be staying in one of the best seaside / harbour towns Scotland has to offer.

We have limited availability between now and the end of August, but we do have the 25th June until 1st July which would make for a great summer staycation here in Stonehaven, come and see what its all about.

Wild seas outside The Seaview Stonehaven right now, sorry to see the outside of Molly's Cafe Bar and Bayview Apartments Stonehaven taking the brunt of the sea. Hope there's not too much damage and that the clean up is swift!

Here's also hoping the boardwalk is repaired back to its former glory in the not too distant future!

Well our view is certainly providing some dramatic scenery! Our calendar is currently closed off for bookings until the 26th October so that we can provide emergency shelter for those who have been evacuated from their homes due to flooding from storm Babet. Stay safe folks!
