Some time ago we were asked to supply some large prayer wheels to stand beside a stupa installation for the Lendrick Trust, a charity based in Scotland. We travelled to Kathmandu to commission the manufacture personally. We are pleased to learn that they have just been installed in situ. Each one is 18" tall, weighs over 20 kgs and contains a large paper prayer roll.

This was a bit unexpected. We have just had an urgent order from The BBC programme "The Repair Shop" (one of my favourite TV shows). They ordered some copper offering bowls to use in a chandelier repair. We will have to wait until next season to see if they use them.

Just been watching Rowan Atkinson promoting "Johnny English 3" on the Graham Norton Show. It is a little known fact that Windhorse Imports provided various props for the Tibetan scenes in Johnny English 2 (some of which didn't make the final cut), but including the material above the windows shown here..🙂🙂

I find it hard to believe that I climbed to the top just a couple of years ago! An example of Burma’s rich and colorful heritage, the spectacular Buddhist monastery of Taung Kalat/Mount Popa, which offers a panoramic view of the surrounding area to pilgrims and visitors who brave the flight of 777 steps to the summit. But the volcano upon which it is perched is also steeped in legends regarding 37 nats (spirits) that continue to be worshipped at Taung Kalat to this day.

All the singing bowls we buy in Kathmandu are personally selected. The hammered singing bowls I am playing here represent only a small sample of those tested. They are shiny when they arrive at this warehouse and the "antique" colour and/or etching is added after selection. Those chosen on our recent visit will arrive in the UK in a few weeks.
