A very successful week training a lot of our customers this week. Good news Monday: The OT department has two DriveDecks that are used throughout the week to provide students with an opportunity to experience and develop independent mobility driving skills. One of these is an old design and has become very temperamental.
At the start of the term, our DriveDecks were sent off to be serviced. When they were returned, we found that the old one had been completely refurbished and set up with the new style base and now has all the design features of the new style DriveDeck, enabling it to meet the needs of our students better. This refurbishment resulted from SpecialEffect donating a DriveDeck to Smile Smart Technology Ltd to forward on.
We would like to publicly extend our thanks to Special Effect for their generous donation and Smile Smart Technology. It is already being used out and about around campus, and as you can see, it is making students smile

We cannot wait to see this next week! It’s a part we have wanted for a long time and I know REHAdapt Engineering have been hard at work getting the parts people need!

One very happy young man in his new Smart Juvo!
An upgrade due to out growing his old chair. We reuse all the smart system and update anything where possible to keep the cost down when upgrading to larger seat bases. We have worked with Consolor Ltd to get the Sharky seat fitted to the Juvo, the two go together really well.

Posted @withregram • @wellchild 15 year old Maisie was diagnosed with a brainstem tumour four years ago and after surgery was left paraplegic, unable to eat and ventilated 24/7 through a tracheotomy. Her tumour is now stable and she is making good progress. Maisie's Mum, Dawn is a member of the WellChild Family Tree network and received help from WellChild with access to vital PPE during the COVID-19 pandemic.
