Leaving Lancaster And just like that we are a little over half way!!!!!!!! Holy schmoly, I was never convinced this would happen!! What a day, after yesterday, the scenery and roads have been amazing. I woke in Preston this morning to the sound of rain and thunder!! We had breakfast at 7am as we could not have it earlier as it’s the weekend 🙄, one of life’s silver linings....

We left the hotel North of Shrewsbury at 8.30am this morning as we only had 75 miles to cover. Tintern Abbey outside Chepstow Today has been a tough day! Chepstow to Shrewsbury , well Harmer Hill which is 8 miles north of Shrewsbury! Alarm went off at 6.30, breakfast at 7am, bikes and bags loaded in the van by 8am and our lifts left at 8.30am! Clockwork!! We arrived by taxi to Lands End this morning at 9am, with a view to start cycling by 9.30. We did the obligatory photo shoot, which we managed for free !(there is normally someone in the wee booth ready to charge you a fortune for the privilege)....

Leaving Mull to travel anywhere is a bit of a journey!! To cycle from Lands End to John O Groats we have had to pack all the gear we need for 2 weeks and travel with that and our bikes to Penzance. The journey is taking us a solid 27 hours of travel! My lovely husband Tom, very kindly dropped us and our bikes at Craignure to catch the ferry to Oban, after bidding a fond farewell to Asha and Jack!...

Please see attached diversion routes for the Corran Ferry while it remains out of service, you can still reach Mull by the Lochaline-Fishnish route or Kilchoan-Tobermory route following the guidance below.
