A few weeks on and this loft is coming along nicely. Steels are now in, some of the new floor joists have been fitted and the weather has been good'ish to us so we've managed to get the main framework of the dormer built and got the flat roof all water tight 👍

After a week of ripping out we are half way there. all the walls and slopes are now bare. Next week we will be tackling the flooring.
If anyone wants a flat pack loft there's one in the customers garden, may need some assembly 😂

Start of a new year and the start of a new job.
This House's previous owner had a drum kit in the loft and made sure it was sound proof. Before we can make a start we have to rip everything out top to bottom, shame really as who ever put this lot together done a good job of it 👍

Here's some pictures of a job we've recently finished which offered a great view over Plymouth and making the most of it with a Juliet balcony 👌
Customers were over the moon with the outcome 😁

We've decided to post progress of every other job unless it's something special as we don't want to bore you with posts too often 😁

That being said, we've just started on a new loft conversion. First few days normally consist of getting tools here and clearing the loft so we have a nice space to set out for the steel beams 👍
Also a quick picture of how the landing looks before the stairs are fitted in a few weeks time

2 weeks on and the loft is coming along nicely. The outside is all finished so we can crack on inside. The velux windows are in, stairs are fitted, the multifoil insulation is 90% done ready for cross battening and walls are starting to be built. Should be ready for plastering early next week 👌

The last job is now complete (except for a lick of paint) 😁 Hopefully get some pictures once every thing is finished so you can see what kinda of space and colour schemes people go for in their new loft space

Last week we had the sunshine with us so we could crack on with the main frame work of the dormer. Sides, front and flat roof are all built and in place. This week we are finishing off the floor joists, strengthening the front roof, the stairs case is getting fitted and making a start on making the dormer permanently water tight along with other jobs 👌

Start of a new job this week.
As with all loft conversions, the first big step is getting the steel beams in place. This means we have to chisel out 4" deep pockets to accommodate the bearing plates the steels sit on and steel beams themselves. A very noisy (sorry neighbors) and dusty job, just one more left to do tomorrow 👍

Happy Monday everyone
This week we're plastering. Should be done plastering come Wednesday and then we can start on the finishing touches from hanging doors to fitting handrail & spindles 👍

Outside is all but complete.
The dormer is all trimmed up and looks amazing. We have Alex from A R Plastering in to build up the gable end. We prefer to have this built in block as it's a lot stronger unlike timber which could move over time and potentially crack the outside render 👌

After a nice bank holiday weekend break we're back to work and we had Plymouth Joinery Ltd in today to fit the stairs. Used these guys for several years now and they always do a great job 👍

When the sun's out there's no stopping us, unless it's coffee time ☕
We've managed to all but finish the dormer externally except for a few trims, guttering and windows which will be arriving soon.
Today we got one of three velux windows fitted, the rest should be fitted by the end of the week.
Ignore the mess, that's being cleaned up now 🧹

We've not posted anything on here since 2013 🤦
Going to try and post more of what we do on a day to day/weekly basis.

The team has recently started a loft conversion on a semi detached house in Plympton. 3 weeks in and the steel beams have been fitted, most of the floor joists are in place and the dormer is well under way to being built 👍
