Seeing your lovely smiling faces each week, and watching your children grow while we all sing together, is really highest privilege and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

For those who can’t quite get through the summer without more Music with Mummy and Jolly Babies, or who wonder what we get up to, there are some very limited spaces on our Teddy Bears Summer Specials in August. They are going very quickly though, so join the waiting list if you don’t manage to secure a place in time.

Booking has also opened for September, with some rare availability in even my most popular time slots, and well as some brand new classes!

For now though, a little rest, and I hope to see you very soon.

We had such a great time today in Music with Mummy!
We sang about helicopters, and the rotors spinning above our heads. We used ribbons as our rotors, and the children loved it! I was so impressed by how well they spun them around.

This is definitely a top t-shirt for any parent wanting just a little bit of calm time! All you have to do is lie down, relax and wait for the back massage to begin! 😂

We had a lovely row in our big blue boat in Music with Mummy this week, and then did a spot of fishing as we bounced some fish on my fabulous stretchy lycra. It was hilarious - the fish were ‘swimming’ very vigorously!

I love the dedication! Check out our Music with Mummy class member with his carefully chosen shirt - covered in different forms of transport, especially for our theme! We sang about buses, cars, and boats this week in the toddler class.
We had some lovely bath time songs in Jolly Babies, which went down very well!

This week in class, everybody was treated to The Happy Song by Imogen Heap for our listening music. I came across this one on social media - it has been a huge hit with parents, and I wanted to share it with you.
Imogen Heap was commissioned to write a song especially for babies by Cow and Gate in 2016. They wanted a song that would make babies feel happy. It came at an ideal time for Imogen, who had a one year old baby at the time.
An ad agency named BETC polled parents to find out what sounds made their babies laugh. They found that other babies laughter, animal noises, sneezing, and aeroplanes were the favourites.
Imogen used baby friendly instruments and sounds, and even included sounds from her own baby in the music- listen carefully to hear her laugh, roar, and say “wow”.
Repetition was key, as always with babies. They can recognise patterns, and respond even more positively when as sound is repeated.
Once Imogen had composed and recorded several versions of the song, The University of London’s Goldsmith’s College got involved. Their developmental and music psychologists tested them with a group of babies, to try to find the most pleasing version. They monitored the babies facial expressions, heart rates, and movements; editing the song’s tempo, pacing, and structure until they had the best reactions from the babies.
It was fantastic to hear from some mummies in class that they have used the song already for everything from car journeys to bath time to soothe their babies. And it just so happens to have loads of lyrics about transport, so fits our toddler theme too!

We have had so much fun having a Colour Carnival every week during our Colours theme. We paraded around the room shaking our pompoms and singing about colours.
The pomspoms were just as popular amongst the grownups as the little ones!

On this miserable day, it is so lovely to look back on our colour for last week - Yellow!

We all had such a lot of fun with our yellow squeaky ducks, and even got to sing a special Happy 2nd Birthday to one tiny tot who has been coming to Music with Mummy since she was just 4 weeks old.

With just a few remaining classes before we break up for Christmas, we have now sent out invoices for next term.

If you would like to join us, we do have a few spaces opening up due to some babies and children moving up to the next class. Book quickly to avoid disappointment - we even have one or two coveted spaces in our most popular time slots for once, and they will be snapped up very quickly!

We also have a brand new class opening up in January - a new Music with Mummy class for toddlers at our new venue at All Saints Church in Woodham. Very excited to be launching this one! Most of the slots have already been booked, but there are a couple left if you’re quick!

Jolly babies (birth to around 15 months) - fun, gentle, and multi-sensory music sessions to aid development and bonding. Sing, play, and dance with other babies and grown ups, and make new friends! Moving On classes are part of the Music with Mummy series of classes for under 5s. We have a limited number of spaces available in our Moving On class, which is specifically aimed at babies who are on the move, and roughly one year old. It’s a great way to get a guaranteed spot in our toddler classes too, which are in high demand. We sing, we play, we use multi-sensory props and toys, we use instruments, we stamp and jump and crawl and bounce. Encourage development: communication, turn taking, sharing, bonding, and lots of musical FUN! Music with Mummy (from walking to 4 years) - half termly themed music classes which encourage development, communication, speech and language skills, but most of all, lots of musical FUN!
