Dear wanderers,

Let me introduce one member of our OneDegree's team: Alexandra, originally from France, she is the one who gets the chance to interact with you on OneDegree's social networks with Angéline.

Since three years, I left my home country to witness with my own eyes what the world has to offer. Being able to live like a local in different corners of the world has been such an incredible adventure!

So far, my favourite trips were going to Alaska, Yukon, British-Columbia and Malaysia. I'm looking forward to explore more Asia in this coming year!

Let me introduce one member of our OneDegree's team: Sally, originally from France, part of the payment and regulations team.

Why do you like travelling?

Immersion. For me, travelling is a means of escape to another world. I think less about my academics, relationships, and daily concerns. Travelling lets me depart from what I am bound to and become a person I am not used to be. While travelling, I eat new food, meet new people, and try new things. Good memories help me cope with other difficulties in daily lives. After a full day in new place, I like to sit back and reflect on things I had done and then sleep with expectation for the better journey the next day.

Where have you been before?

I lived in Hong Kong and Singapore when I was young. I travelled around Asian countries including China, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan and Vietnam. I have also been to western part of the United States. I usually bought a tour package before, but now I have discovered the merit of travelling without a tour agency- searching for destinations, doing research, and asking locals and taxi drivers for good restaurants and places to visit. My favorite destination so far is Vietnam where I travelled with random motorcycle driver all around Dalat.

Dear explorers,

Let me introduce one member of our OneDegree's team: Angéline, originally from France, she is the strategic communication manager and the marketing assistant.

Along with Alexandra, we animate the social networks and communicate about One Degree's life and experience, and plan for our future and very soon coming development.

What I like in travelling is the never stopping amazement and discovery. Anything may become an adventure, and all you can really expect is the unexpected. Whatever experiences you go through, you will come back grown up and eager to go for more.
During my childhood, I traveled a lot throughout Europe, especially to Spain, Italy and the Great Britain, but also the Netherlands, Belgium and Andorra. I visited Colorado, and then went on an awesome trip in Chile, Bolivia and Peru in 2015. This year, I have been visiting Hong Kong where I lived for the semester, and did a short trip to Japan.

Dear adventurers,

Let me introduce one member of our OneDegree's team: Matt, originally from Australia, part of the business development team.

Traveling to me is exploring, getting to know a world outside of your own. I like traveling to get out of my comfort zone and experience other cultures, natural beauty and different lifestyles.

I have been to a few places in SE Asia (Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia) and the pacific (Fiji, Hawaii), as well as all over my home countries of Australia and the US. Im excited to travel to Northern Europe and Africa in this next year.

My work is about being both creative and collaborative, collecting thoughts and ideas to create foundations that One Degree can build from. These are things like mission, values, protocol, objectives for new students. As well, I like to do visual work so I have been involved with wix and canva, creating a website and handbook.

Let me introduce one member of OneDegree's team: Linh, originally from Vietnam, working in anything related to payment and regulations of One Degree online platform operations, which probably is your biggest concern while using our service. Yet, no worries then, One Degree is working at our best to bring benefits to all of our stakeholders, including you.

Why do you like travelling?
I guess my reason to be here on One Degree Tour is more or less just like yours. Because of what? Yes, it is, because we all love travelling. For me, I always consider travelling as a privilege of young people, so why not making most of it while we are young, energetic, crazy enough to be travel miles away from home to new exciting areas in the world.

Where have you been before?
While travelling, I love to watch, to talk and to experience local life there. My camera lens is, therefore, usually focused on the locals’ working, living and smiling. These travelling memories are so lively and lovely to stay for good in my mind about these wonder lands.

Let me introduce one member of OneDegree's team: Adam, webdeveloper, originally from Canada.

Why do you like travelling?
I have always believed in the idea that breaking routines equals in self-growth. For me, travelling is the easiest way to do that. Pick somewhere you’ve always wanted to go and go, it is that easy. I think that travelling is the best way to become open to new perspectives, issues, lifestyles, ideas and people. I think that we have an obligation to ourselves and the world as a whole to become educated on these matters.

Where have you been before?
I have done my fair share of travelling, but my most memorable trips have been in North Korea, Spain, California and Thailand.

Let me introduce one member of OneDegree's team: Justin, webdesigner, originally from California, USA.

Why do you like travelling?
I enjoy traveling for the experience of a new culture, thrill of all new adventures, and the ability to meet people from all across the world. During my travels I like to experience as much and meet as many people as possible while trying to take in all the new culture as well.

Where have you been?
In Asia I have visited the Philippines, Taiwan, and plan to take a trip to China as well. One of my favorite trips has been to the Taroko National Park in Taiwan because of the nature experience and being able to escape from living in the city.

Founded in September of 2016 by students at Hong Kong University, OneDegree is an online peer-to-peer platform that aims to connect travelers and locals in a way that was not possible before.
