Szechenyi thermal baths in Város Liget (city park) is the most popular baths among the locals. You can bob around in various indoor and outdoor pools, sauna and steam yourself, and have a massage. You can even swim. Take the metro 1 straight there to 'Szechenyi Fürdő' stop.

In Budapest you can eat well and cheaply - particularly at lunchtime. Try Café Vian. This is a French-owned café in the pedestrianised Liszt Ferenc square. From 11am to 4pm Monday to Friday it offers a great lunch menu - a soup plus main course for around €4. Plus dessert for €1. There is a choice of three or four options.
