Look who we seen today out for a test run ahead of the event this weekend ensuring his mortotcycle fits perfectly on the ferry for Saturday😉

Such a journey he has ahead of him coming up Carlingford Lough! ⛴️

Shoreside spectators can follow Fionn mac Cumhaill on his epic journey to Warrenpoint as he crosses Carlingford Lough onboard the Carlingford Lough Ferry.

The giant scale Fionn will stop off at Rostrevor, Greencastle, Greenore, Carlingford and Omeath greeting visitors along the way. Accompanying Fionn will a flotilla of 40 boats with the assistance of the Carlingford Yacht Club.

Last weekend of mixed weather didn’t entice too many to go outside much less on a boat, but this crowd were determined to make the most of Sunday afternoon, and the craic was mighty. Armed with their own food, drink (minerals of course!!!!!) together with their wee doggies, they set sail and visited Warrenpoint for a tad, then back down the lock and on out to the lighthouse. It might seem a tad windy but it’s quite a nice morning on the Lough, if anyone fancy’s a boat tour on Carlingford Lough we have space on our 12pm boat today. Local maritime survey company XOCEAN are holding an open evening on Thursday 18th of May from 18.00 to 20.00.

These vessels have been a regular sight on our roads transiting on road to be launched or on the lough heading to their next destination,so this is a great opportunity to get to see them, the team and the facilities up close.

It’s a beautiful Sunday morning in Carlingford and the Lough is beautifully calm. We are sailing out at 11.30am from Carlingford Marina. We have a few spaces left if you’d like to join us. It seems Finn the dolphin is anxious to say hello too, he jumped up to eye level as we passed by yesterday to the delight of everyone onboard 🦈🦈

It started with a Facebook post. Richard Lewis, the owner of the Carlingford bike hire company On Yer Bike, saw a Facebook post asking if anyone could loan bikes to Ukrainian families who had moved here so that they could explore the the wonderful scenery in the area.
