I like to take the opertunity to congratulate my lovely wife Moggs on launching her 1st children's book 'Myths and Meridians'. A book both parents and kids can enjoy. The overall aim of the book is to teach health and wellness to kids with the assistance of some Irish legends 📖 😇🥰

Who would have know my proudest moment would have come after we closed our doors. 🙏😁

We might have closed this summer, however it has allowed us to enjoy festivals like this that we miss every year. It's funny that the 1st year this festival took place we opened up at the lake and here it is again the year we closed....way too long of wait and hopefully it will become the annual event this town deserves Well done everyone involved in making this happen 👏 👍

What started as assignment in my final year in the GMIT (now the ATU / GMIT Outdoor Education Courses ) turned in to 9 years of a career in the outdoors.

Over the 9 years I got to work some fantastic people and excellent instructors. This is probably my last post so I wanted to thank as many of them as I could (couldn't find a picture of all of them). They were the ones who brought the adventure to life for so many people, I just provided the setting.

I'll miss the pizza on the Friday evening, the wreaked my head moments😆 and the everyday love ye show everyone of our clients👌...you were all amazing❤️👏👏

Most of them were from the local college outdoor ed program and have since gone on to carve successful careers in different industries, while some stayed in the outdoors. The rest were home grown talent who started off in our adventure camps and then progress to become instructors, something I'm hugely proud of.

‼️Important Announcement ‼️

I have deceided I will be closing the doors of Mayo Adventure Experience on 30th June 2023. Our insurance runs out at the end of June 23 and we decided not to renew it. This obviously means that all our activity on the lake after that date will not go ahead, including camps.

I would like to thank everyone for all the support over the years, to all the kids who made the adventure camps the success they are. We created nine years of great memories (this would have been our 10th summer)and we also achieved so much more.

Thanks to all our instructors and junior instructors who worked so hard to create so many memories for kids, This was truly the biggest adventure we’ve been on so far.

There are too many people to thank here so I'll thank them in person. Lough Lannagh has been a great host to kids, families, teams, groups all looking for adventures.

We wish you a wonderful summer and hope you find adventure wherever you go.

Well done to one of top guys, Liam McDonnell and his buddy Felix Earls, great job 👏 👍 🚑

Just wanted to share a feel-good story with you all.
In each of our sections throughout our Castlebar Scout Group we always say how proud we are of our amazing Young People.

We'll last night was another one of those times where 2 of our Ventures had me absolutely bursting with pride.

On their way home last night, Felix and Liam came across a man who needed medical attention. He had fallen on the rathbawn road. There was lots of traffic and people standing around trying to figure out what to do. Felix and Liam jumped into action. They were amazing, checking his vitals, kept him comfortable, and calm. They did a great handover to the paramedics. Another proud moment for these two to add to the list 🥰

IRELAND. CO MAYO. Enrol for ASI Stand Up Paddle Instructor courses scheduled on 7-9 April 2023 at Castlebar, Co Mayo.

Three courses are being delivering delivered:

SUP Wise Intensiv - 3 hours

SUP Water Safety Rescue - 4 hours

Level 1 SUP Instructor (Enclosed Flat Water) - 2 days

The ASI SUP Instructor courses are regarded as the best worldwide, with comprehensive information covering paddling skills, instructional techniques, operations and safety.



Gain all the skills you need to confidently and safely deliver SUP lessons and activities.



Delivered by local Irish ASI Trainer, Jarlath McHale. An experienced SUP school operator and trainer who has been active in promoting SUP education in the local area.

The courses are hosted by Mayo Adventure Experience.



The training is based at the Castlebar on Lough Lannagh on an urban lake in a purposely developed amenity for outdoor activity, in natural surroundings, with ideal SUP paddling conditions.

As 2022 comes to an end, we have so much to be grateful for and even more to look forward to. Some highlights for us were winning the Mayo Business Awards Inclusion & Accessibility Award, assisting a young Ukrainian lad getting back kayaking, Adventure Camps, and of course bringing another year of adventure activity to Castlebar

A huge thanks to our team: Steve, Tara, Liam and Liam, Sam and Alex who brought the fun to all activities. 👍👏💪

Thanks to Ger Deere for his assistance with sort the battle of the weeds we have every year. Thank to all the volunteers of Castlebar Tidy Towns and Castlebar Community Clean Up for their work around the town and lake keeping the place in prestige condition. Damian Browne becomes The First Person in History to Row from New York To Galway

Winner of the 2019 Adventurer of the Year by Water Damian for rowing from Europe to America and now became the first person in history to row from New York to Galway. 💪

Damian left Chelsea Piers, Manhattan on Tuesday, June 14th spending 112 days at sea, landing on the rocks(safely home now) at Furbo Beach, Galway after 2,686 hours at sea and over 3450 nautical miles rowed. ...WOW🤯

Well done to Damian and his team at Empower, fantastic achievement and well worth of overall Adventurer or the Year 2022. Mammoth achievement by a Mammoth of a man 🚣‍♂️💪🇮🇪👏👏👏

Wow where did another year go.....hard to believe the 2022 season is over. I couldn't put everything that happened in to a video or it would be feature lenght movie.🤣

Thanks a million to everyone of you who supported us during the season. From Winning Awards to expeditions for juniors, kids Adventure Camps, slalom kayaking and kayaking for people with physical disabilities....we did it all in 2022🥇🚣‍♂️🏄‍♂️

We decided to vist the indoor activities that Castlebar has to offer and it didn't disapoint.

First we headed to the Inside Castlebar to test our teams skills, crack the codes to escape the room.....super hero style🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️ ...Great experience and well worth a vist ...defo ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️and we will be back again

Then it off over the road for a bit of bowling. Mayo Roller Bowl never disappoints for fun. Another quality experience even if Steven trashed us all👌 🎳

And did we mention both venues were short listed earlier in the year for the Mayo Business Awards 2022...Great to support local and 2 more great reasons to Visit Castlebar .....especially if you just gotten of the water with us of course 😉☺️😎🤩
