They have gone on to high-profile careers in government, business, finance, broadcasting, as well as film and television. During their reign, our winners are given the tools to personally and professionally enrich others by dedicating themselves to raising awareness and much-needed funds for philanthropic endeavors.

MISS UNIVERSE IRELAND OFFICIAL STATEMENT September 9th, 2021 We at the MISS UNIVERSE IRELAND ORGANISATION would like to congratulate the Miss World Ireland Organisation and the newly crowned Pamela Uba. This is a tremendous accomplishment for their organisation as it has crowned its first black representative. We have no doubt that she will represent our country proudly, and wish her the very best of luck in that endeavor. Recently, we have seen many news and media outlets reporting incorrectly Miss Uba as the first Black woman to win a national pageant in Ireland and to compete on an international level. However, the MISS UNIVERSE IRELAND ORGANISATION made history on August 1st 2019 by crowning the first woman of colour Fionnghuala O’Reilly. Miss O’Reilly represented Ireland at Miss Universe 2019 as Ireland’s first Black woman to represent the country at any international pageant, and did so with dignity and grace. During a time where inclusivity and equality is given the emphasis it deserves throughout Ireland and the rest of the world, it is crucial to highlight and preserve the accomplishments of all Black women, which have been largely marginalized or erased throughout history. The inaccurate media reports of Miss Uba being the first woman of color to represent Ireland in an international stage ignores – if not erases – Miss O’Reilly’s story. As a Data Scientist for NASA, Miss O’Reilly dedicated her year as Miss Universe Ireland by raising awareness for people of colour, for women in Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM), and campaigning for the Black community to promote racial justice. Her story should not be forgotten. We at Miss Universe Ireland feel strongly about celebrating and supporting the progress of all women in the pageant arena. Our Story

MOXIE Media Productions made history for Ireland by having the first ever back to back placements at Miss Universe. Cailin Aine Ni Toibin made the Top 4 in Europe and Top 20 overall at Miss Universe 2017, the first time in 7 years for Ireland! In 2018 Grainne Gallanagh placed in the Top 5 in Europe and Top 20 overall. On August 1st we made history again by crowning NASA Datanaut and the first ever biracial woman, Fionnoughla O'Reilly to represent Ireland at Miss Universe!
