Scam calls using an Irish prefix like 087 are doing the rounds. The callers are now using the first six digits from your own phone number i.e. "087 123".

Watch out for this pattern on all incoming calls to stay safe.

Mobile Phone Scam Alert - An Garda Síochána continue to issue warnings about mobile phone scams. Please ensure elderly family members and young teenagers are aware that if they receive a call they should hang up immediately, never press a button or click anything because that gives the scammer access to all the apps on the phone. There are products to make mobile phones more secure. Check with your service provider.
