ચન્દ્ર ગ્રહણ સાથે ગુરૂ પૂનમ

ઘન ઘોર વાદળાના ઘેરાવ વચ્ચે 16 - 17 જુલાઈ 2019ની રાત્રીએ થનાર ખંડગ્રાસ ચન્દ્ર ગ્રહણને નિહાળવા ખગોળ રસિકોની આંખોમાં ઉત્સાહ સાથે ચંદ્રગ્રહણને નોંધવાની મળેલી અનોખી તક વાદળાં છીનવી તો નહીં લે ને તેનો ઉચાટ પણ દેખાઈ રહ્યો છે. આ બાબતે વધુ માહિતી આપતાં જાણીતા ખગોળવીદ અને સ્ટારગેઝિંગ ઇન્ડિયાના સી. ઇ. ઓ. નરેન્દ્ર ગોરે કેટલીક રસપ્રદ વિગતો જણાવતાં કહ્યું કે, ગ્રહણને કારણે ચન્દ્ર તેની તેજસ્વીતા ગુમાવશે સાથે શનિ અને ગુરુના ગ્રહો પણ આકાશને શોભાવતા રહેશે. આપણે સૌ જાણીએ છીએ કે સૂર્ય એ સ્વયં પ્રકાશિત ગોળો છે જ્યારે ચન્દ્ર અને પૃથ્વીને પોતાનો પ્રકાશ ન હોવાથી તેમનો પડછાયો અવકાશમાં સતત ક્યાંક ને ક્યાંક પડતો હોય છે. જ્યારે પૃથ્વી સૂર્ય અને ચન્દ્રની બરોબર સીધી લીટીમાં આવે છે ત્યારે પૃથ્વીનો પડછાયો ચન્દ્ર ઉપર પડતાં પૂનમની રાત્રીએ પણ ચન્દ્રની ચાંદની દેખાતી નથી જેને આપણે ચન્દ્ર ગ્રહણના નામે ઓળખીએ છીએ. વાસ્તવમાં દરેક પદાર્થના પડછાયા બે પ્રકારના હોય છે. ઘેરો પડછાયો અને આછો પડછાયો. ખગોળની ભાષામાં ઘેરા પડછાયાને ઉમ્બ્રા (UMBRA) અને આછા પડછાયાને પેનુમ્બ્રા (PENUMBRA) કહેવામાં આવે છે. પડછાયાના મધ્ય ભાગે ઘાટો પડછાયો હોય છે જ્યારે તેની આજુ બાજુ આછો પડછાયો હોય છે. અવકાશમાં ચન્દ્ર પૃથ્વીની કઈ છાયામાંથી પસાર થાય છે તેના ઉપર ચન્દ્ર ગ્રહણના પ્રકારનો આધાર હોય છે. જો ચન્દ્રનો સંપુર્ણ ભાગ પૃથ્વીની ઉમ્બ્રામાંથી એટલેકે ઘેરી છાયામાંથી પસાર થાય તો ખગ્રાસ ચન્દ્ર ગ્રહણ થાય છે. પૃથ્વીની છાયા જ્યાં પડતી હોય ત્યાં જો ચન્દ્ર બરોબર વચ્ચેથી પસાર થાય તો છાયાનો વધારે ભાગ ચન્દ્રને પસાર કરવો પડે અને તેમાં વધારે સમય લાગે જેથી ગ્રહણ લાંબુ ચાલે. આજે થનાર આ ગ્રહણ ખંડગ્રાસ પ્રકારનું છે. જેથી આખે આખો ચંદ્ર ગ્રસિત નહીં થાય તેનો થોડો ભાગ ગ્રહણ રહિત જોવા મળશે. આ વખતે ગુરુ ગ્રહ સુર્ય સાથે થોડા સમય પહેલાં પ્રતિ યુતિમાં આવેલ હોવાથી સામાન્ય કરતાં વધુ મોટો દેખાશે. ગુરુનો ગ્રહ ચંદ્રથી થોડો દૂર પશ્ચિમ બાજુએ ખૂબ પ્રકાશિત હોવાના કારણે તરત ઓળખાઈ જશે.
સૂર્ય ગ્રહણ કે ચંદ્ર ગ્રહણ હંમેશા લોકોમાં ચર્ચાનો વિષય રહ્યો છે. જ્યાં સુધી તેના વૈજ્ઞાનિક સત્યથી લોકો માહિતગાર ન હતા ત્યારે કેટલીય કાલ્પનિક કથાઓ વિવિધ સ્થાનોમાં રહેતા લોકોમાં પ્રચલિત હતી. હવે આપણે સૌ જાણીએ છીએ તે પ્રમાણે ગ્રહણ એ સૂર્ય અને ચંદ્રના પડછાયાની રમત છે. જ્યારે પૃથ્વીનો પડછાયો ચંદ્ર ઉપર પડે ત્યારે ચંદ્ર ગ્રહણ થાય છે અને જ્યારે ચંદ્ર નો પડછાયો પૃથ્વી ઉપર પડે છે ત્યારે સૂર્ય ગ્રહણ થાય છે. ગ્રહણને ધાર્મિક વિધિ વિધાન તેમજ સામાજિક રીત રીવાજો સાથે પણ જોડવામાં આવ્યું હોવાથી લોકો પરંપરાને અનુસરીને ગ્રહણ દરમિયાન દાન, વ્રત, સફાઈ વિગેરે કરતા હોય છે. પોતાની માન્યતા અનુસાર કરાતા વિધિ વિધાન સામે કોઈ વિરોધ ન હોઈ શકે પરંતુ ગ્રહણ દરમિયાન સૂર્ય કે ચંદ્ર ને રાક્ષસ ગળી જાય છે તેવી માન્યતાને દુર કરી વૈજ્ઞાનિક અભિગમ કેળવી આ ખગોળીય ઘટનાને માણવી જોઈએ.
સૂર્ય ગ્રહણને નિહાળવા માટે ખાસ સાવધાનીઓ રાખવી પડતી હોય છે તેમજ નરી આંખે ન જોવાની સલાહ આપવામાં આવતી હોય છે પરંતુ ચંદ્ર ગ્રહણને નરી આંખે જોઈ શકાય છે તેમજ ચંદ્ર ગ્રહણને સારી રીતે જોવા માટે દૂરબીન કે ટેલીસ્કોપ નો ઉપયોગ પણ કરી શકાય છે. તેમજ કેમેરા કે મોબાઈલની મદદથી ફોટોગ્રાફી પણ કરી શકાય છે.
કચ્છ તેમજ ગુજરાતના ખગોળ શોખીનો તેમજ ગ્રહણને સાચી રીતે સમજનાર લોકો ગ્રહણને ખગોળીય ઘટના તરીકે જોતા હોવાથી તા. 16 - 17 જુલાઈના ચંદ્ર ગ્રહણના વૈજ્ઞાનિક અભ્યાસ તેમજ ફોટોગ્રાફી માટે ખુબ ઉત્સાહિત છે. ગુજરાતના ખગોળ શોખીનો, એસ્ટ્રોનોમી ક્લબો, તથા વિજ્ઞાન કેન્દ્રો દ્વારા લોકોને ગ્રહણ વિષે સાચી સમજણ આપવી, ઉપકરણોની મદદથી ચન્દ્રના પ્રકાશની તિવ્રતામાં થતો ઘટડો/વધારો માપવો, ગ્રહણ ના વિવિધ તબ્બકાઓનું ટેલિસ્કોપ ની મદદથી નિરિક્ષણ કરી તેની સમય સહીત નોંધ કરવી, તેમજ ગ્રહણના વિવિધ તબ્બકાઓની ફોટોગ્રાફી કરવા સહીતના પ્રયોગો કરવાનું આયોજન કરી ખગોળીય ઘટનાની જાણકારી વધુમાં વધુ લોકો સુધી પહોંચાડી વિજ્ઞાન પ્રચાર પ્રસાર અને અન્ધશ્રદ્ધા નિર્મૂલનની કામગીરીનું આયોજન કરવું જોઈએ.

• Then right around the end of twilight, you'll find -magnitude shining low in the west-northwest at the same height as zero-magnitude in the northeast.

When this happens, turn to the south-southeast, and there will be 1st-magnitude at the same height too.

That bright point far upper right of Fomalhaut is .

• The crescent hangs in the southwest after sunset, as shown above. How early in the fading light can you spot Saturn, about 14° to the Moon's left?

Next, look for fainter, more difficult Antares about the same distance to the Moon's lower right.

• is the brightest star very high in the west. After nightfall is complete, look to Vega's right by 14° (nearly a fist and a half at arm's length) for Eltanin, the nose of Draco the Dragon. The rest of Draco's fainter, lozenge-shaped head is a little farther right. Draco always eyes Vega!
