Join this February 2023 for this unique wildlife expedition in search of " Ghost of Himalayas "

Very few journeys in life can truly be described as “MAGNIFICENT.” A quest to see a Snow Leopard in its natural habitat is one such expedition. Exceedingly scarce, exquisitely beautiful, the 'Ghost of the Himalayas' is also the most elusive of the big cats. To sight one requires exploring some of the most remote, rugged and scenically stunning terrain of the Hemis National Park in Ladakh. It is at this time that this predator moves down to lower altitudes in search of their prey while we search for them through our spotting scopes, binoculars and camera lenses.

This is a journey to experience something rare, almost a pilgrimage in the world of wildlife.

We should be proud to know that India accounts to almost 70% of the Tiger Population in the World and at the same time be aware to set an example to the rest of the world, that a billion people can co-exist with this magnificent animal by the right conservation actions and awareness.

July 16 is World Snake Day

An opportunity to celebrate snakes and raise awareness about their preservation. While snakes are threatened by many of the same issues that affect all wildlife like habitat loss, climate change, disease , negative attitudes toward snakes may be the biggest barrier to their preservation because it often impedes efforts to address other threats.

Around 3,400 species of the snake are present across the globe out of which about 600 species are venomous and only 200 species can kill human beings.

In India, more than 270 snake species are present out of which around 60 species are venomous. Out of 60 only 4 species are majorly responsible for the mortality and injury cases in India. They known as the “big four.” 1- Spectacled cobra 2- common krait 3 -Russell’s viper 4- saw-scaled viper.

On this World snake day I hope we will start changing our approach towards snakes. Start loving and respect them.

ABOUT THE FARM
Windswept, rugged and surrounded by forest cover, Jungle Lore Farmstead is undoubtedly an experience of living off-the-grid. Our 3-acre eco-friendly farm is just 2.5 hours from Mumbai and Pune, a perfect destination to take a break from the daily clamor.

Our Six Cottages, surrounded by lush woods and beautiful views, is a space for friends and family to relax and connect with nature. At the farmstead, you can explore some nature trails, try your hand at organic farming or rearing animals, perfect your landscape photography skills or simply take in the fresh air. Whether you come for a short break to take life at a more leisurely pace, or a longer stay to explore the delights of a farm stay, we have something for everyone. Join us at the Jungle Lore Farmstead to savor an authentic rural experience!

ACCOMMODATION

All our cottages exude rustic features like rustic floors, walls of clay and recycled materials, verandahs made of recycle material, wooden structures and ample amounts of coziness. Every cottage comes with an attached toilet.The front yard of the cottage with gorgeous green plants will soothe your tired eyes. The Three cozy Cottages are on double occupancy and the cottages number 4 & 5 have interconnected rooms that can accommodate up to 6 to 9 people. Cottage number 6 is individual which can accommodate 4 to 6 people.

• Community Farming & Gardening
Our team will be happy to take you around our farm and give you a short tour of what we grow and cultivate. You can also try your hand at community farming and rearing animals. Dig, sow, pluck and have a lot of fun!

• Nature Walk
A short leisurely walk around the dam will familiarize you with the neighborhood, the tribal village, and the beautiful scenic views.

• Trekking
Our farm is surrounded by stunning forests and valleys making it a perfect place for trek lovers. We conduct treks to the ancient Buddhist caves of Thanale, Sudhagad Fort, Sarasgad Fort, and much more. Walk with us to know the amazing facts of these stunning places while you capture some amazing moments on camera.

• Indoor & Outdoor games
For those who love the outdoors, we have options like Frisbee, volleyball, rifle shooting, archery, badminton, and much more. And those who like to stay indoors; relax with games like carrom, chess, Uno, playing cards and other board games.

• Bicycle ride
A great way to explore the areas nearby is on bicycles. One can ride along the varied terrain to experience some of the incredible sights of the place.

• Barbeque & bonfire nights
We provide barbeque and bonfire pits for every group/family. If you are a music fan, carry your guitar along and strum through the night.

• Fishing or Swimming
A short ride to the dam is where you can spend some quiet time fishing or take a quick swim in the cool waters.

• Bullock Cart/Tractor ride
Hop on and cheer with joy as you sit behind the Bullock cart/Tractor for a fun ride around the rugged terrain of the farm.

• Meditation or Yoga
Looking for some alone time with yourself? The farm has plenty of space, find your happy spot and meditate away. And for those who love

Screenings & Karaoke
Spend an evening watching a classic movie or the latest cricket or football match. For the music fans we have a karaoke system, so sing away with your family and friends.

It’s World Parrot Day today. Let’s take a little time to appreciate these intelligent, colorful birds. Parrots, also known as psittacines, belong to the order Psittaciformes and are found in tropical and subtropical regions throughout the world.
Though all parrots share those characteristics, they are otherwise highly variable in size and coloration. Many are brightly colored, but those in the superfamily Strigopoidea (the New Zealand parrots) are mostly dull. Members of the superfamily Cacatuoidea (cockatoos) have prominent feathered crests on their heads. The third superfamily, Psittacoidea, contains the “true” parrots that most people are quite familiar with, including macaws, conures, lorikeets, amazons, and parakeets.

Explore Panna National Park & Khajuraho with Jungle Lore

Panna National Park
around 27 km from Khajuraho. The Panna National Park is home to some of the best wildlife species in India and is one of the better Tiger Reserves in the country. The park is known worldwide for its wild cats, including tigers as well as deer and antelope. The landscape of this rocky and uneven terrain is covered by scrubby vegetation and grass. Fauna of this park includes, apart from the Tiger, Wolf, Chital, Sloth Bear, Chinkara and Sambhar.

Khajuraho
A World heritage site famous for temples built by the Chandela rulers around the 10th century. It has much more to offer than the erotic sculptures which have made it world famous. The famous Western group of temples is designated as the World Heritage Site and is enclosed within a beautifully laid out park. The Lakshmana and Vishwanath Temples to the front and The Kandariya Mahadev, Jagadami and Chitragupta Temples display the best craftsmanship of Khajuraho.
