Growth is a process, that most importantly requires time.
Just like how each seed grows into a tree with it’s own pace, bears fruits or not, quicker or slower, visible or not.

~ reminders of how small I am always brings me back here to the moment. Back to really being. Humans are so small in the vast beauty of it all. Existence is a blessing. The universe can take care of itself without our interjections. I can be carried on the wave of this all-encompassing universe without feeling the need to grasp, gasp and struggle. I can just be held in it all, right at this instant.

As the winter approaches, nights get long and days short. We find ourselves at home often than not. Light has always been a source of energy to me. Thus, winters are less productive. This time of the year, I’ll retreat into the peace and comfort of painting, even though it is about racing against the light.

So now I just look for little things to lift myself up, to be thankful for. For waking up when sunlight falls on my face, having a warm beverage, the chilling winds, the snow capped mountains that shine through the night. Winter isn’t that bad and dark, once you get used to it.
