Find what you're looking for in our diverse country, India!

Overtourism has caused many destinations in India and around the world to suffer. It's time to choose a place to explore that's unique.

An unbalanced demand supply can cause significant harm to the environment, as resources are depleted faster than they can be replaced.

Instead, go further. Putting in that extra effort challenges you to step out of your comfort zone, gifting you with emptier landscapes - where you can feel like the world belongs to you.

Here are some fun alternatives to touristy destinations.

An Amazing Trip to Kashmir! Our cherished guest, Ramnathan K, shares his experience travelling with Offbeat Tracks.

"We had a wonderful trip to Kashmir organized by Offbeat Tracks. I would highly recommend Offbeat Tracks to anyone who would want to experience a tailormade holiday to 'Offbeat destinations.' Kudos to Vandana and her team at Offbeat Tracks. Keep up the great work and looking forward to our next adventure with Offbeat Tracks!

The Offbeat team meticulously planned the itinerary given our requirements and followed it up with near-perfect ex*****on.

I would like to thank Ms. Sudha (Head of Sales, Offbeat Tracks), who helped create a tailormade itinerary at a competitive price point, and Mr. Devansh (Head of Operations), who helped coordinate with their local point of contact in Kashmir for smooth ex*****on of the itinerary. We were initially scheduled to visit Daksum. However, given the prevailing situation in the Anantnag district, the offbeat team was able to suggest and accommodate quick changes to the itinerary at short notice. Would like to call out Mr. Ali Mohammed (Offbeat J&K point of contact) for his immaculate planning and ex*****on for the entire duration of the trip. He was just a phone call away for any clarifications that we had. He also made it a point to call us each day to get feedback from us. This helps in enhancing the overall customer experience. Last but not least, we would like to call out Mr. Tanveer Ahmed Malik, our driver and guide, for his courteousness, patience, and cheerfulness throughout the entire duration of the trip.

The highlights of our trip were a visit to Gurez Valley, Tulail Valley, Aru Valley, and Chandanwari."

Thank you for choosing Offbeat Tracks. We are glad you decided to trust us and explore lesser-known yet beautiful parts of Kashmir!

The local fare in Vietnam is a blending of the five essential senses – taste, sight, smell, touch, and sound – with natural elements: spicy (metal), sour (wood), bitter (fire), salty (water), and sweet (earth). This is based on the five-point philosophy where each taste bud corresponds to vital body organs and colours: the large intestine (white), gallbladder (green), small intestine (red), urinary bladder (black), and stomach (yellow). Traditional cuisine is inextricably linked with the usage of fresh ingredients with an interesting play of textures between herbs and vegetables. Lemongrass, bird’s eye chilli, Saigon cinnamon, lemon juice, basil leaves, ginger, and mint are staples in the Vietnamese diet, and most dishes are rice-based making the food gluten-free and low in sugar, dairy, and oil.

Check out our blog post, 'Exploring Vietnam's Food and Flavours' to learn about the history, regional intricacies, and detailed account of these unique and flavoursome dishes.

"The official message by the UN Secretary General, reads as follows,

"Tourism is a powerful force for progress and mutual understanding. But in order to deliver its full benefits, this force must be protected and nurtured.

Today, the climate emergency is threatening many travel destinations and the very survival of communities and economies that depend on tourism. And many developing countries that are severely affected by a changing climate are also facing a growing investment deficit and a cost-of-living crisis.

On this World Tourism Day, we recognize the vital need for green investments to build a tourism sector that delivers for people and planet.

Governments and businesses must invest in sustainable and resilient tourism practices. Private actors must adopt zero-emission pathways, lower their
energy consumption and leverage renewable forms of energy. And everyone must protect the biodiversity and ecological balance of all destinations.

Targeted investments can deliver jobs and support local businesses and industries while mitigating the environmental impacts of tourism, empowering communities, promoting their cultures, and contributing to essential social protection systems.

So let us all do more to harness the full potential of sustainable tourism. Because investing in sustainable tourism is investing in a better future for all."

Here are a few practices in which you can invest more sustainably when you travel, swipe to read a few ways in which Offbeat Tracks encourages its guests to invest in people and the communities, enviroment and travel at large through the tool of tourism.

Summer vacations made experiential!

Our guest Shruti embarked on an educational exploration of the 'Land of the Thunder Dragon' with her daughter during her summer vacation.

We planned various activities for them where they interacted with scholars and monks from Bhutan and learned a great deal about the culture and history of this mystical kingdom.

Here is their review, "If you're seeking an authentic experience away from the typical tourist spots and hoping to immerse yourself in local life, planning your trip with Offbeat Tracks is the way to go. During my trip with my daughter, we chose to stay in unique accommodations like monasteries and homestays. Our meals consisted solely of fresh local cuisine, adding to the authenticity of our experience. The dedication of our guide and driver was truly exceptional; they consistently went above and beyond to fulfill our requests. Sudha, our person of contact at Offbeat Tracks, was reachable all the time. She made all these bookings at the last minute and made arrangements in a way we were thinking of experiencing Bhutan. She added traditional schools and professional college visits to our itinerary for a deeper understanding of Bhutanese culture and education. We will definitely do our next trip with them".

Have you ever thought about taking your child on an educational tour across international borders?

If not, this is your reminder!

The Culture Capital,’ Namchi or Namtse, is the administrative command post of Southern Sikkim.

Located a mere eighty kilometres from the capital city of Gangtok, in recent years it has galloped to a place of worthy standing which necessitates a stopover whilst in the state.

Enveloped in the perennial romance of mists, mysterious hills, condensed forests, and the sounds of monastery chants and gongs, Namchi’s sleepy brilliance comes as a calming balm.

Away from the humdrum of hectic lives, an enchanting valley is parked noiselessly in the Himalayan Range.

A rare sparkler, the scenic views of the Zanskar Valley in the Ladakh area with white-glazed summits, high mountain passes, aquamarine rivers, and plunging gorges, interspersed with silent monasteries, offer a surreal experience.

Interestingly, previously the only route connecting Zanskar to the outside world in frigid seasons was a daring walk over the frozen Zanskar River!

However, with changing times the Kargil-Zanskar highway has been operational in winter over the past two years, and plans to introduce an all-weather road to the most isolated areas in Zanskar, have been fast-tracked.

Check out our travel guide, 'A Guide to Zansksar' to help you plan your exploration. Link in bio.

In the quaint village of Jagatsukh, Manali, Tenzin and family, including their furry friend, 'Liza,' welcome you to their boutique homestay property called the 'The Green Mountain.'

It is a mountain lodge with a wooden setting overlooking the Himalayan Mountain ranges. The family hosts BBQ dinners and serves you homely Himachali food.

During summer and spring, the surroundings are filled with apples hanging from trees in orchards - ready to be plucked and eaten!

The winters turn the homestay into a cosy space with pearly white snow. There are several activities in and around the property that you can enjoy.

1. Sundowner and BBQ at the lesser-known Hampta Valley.

2. A day trip to the fascinating Sissu village via the Atal Tunnel.

3. A visit to the trout fish farm.

4. Village walks around Jagatsukh and much more!

When you choose to stay at a homestay and not a conventional hotel, you contribute to the livelihood of the local communities you interact with. Opting for a homestay accommodation is a sustainable travel choice where you get to experience a destination authentically.

Occupying a snug corner in the copious bounty of nature between Tibet, Nepal, and Bhutan, lies the small state of Sikkim.

Vast, manicured paddy fields on green slopes stretch as far as the eye can see in the ‘The Valley of Rice.’ The climate gifts the province a thick woodland floor with snow-tipped mountains wrapping the Eastern land. Home to Kanchenjunga, the highest peak in India, myriad ponds and larger lakes, colourful valleys, and torrential waterfalls, Sikkim’s small package is a profusion of ethereal grandeur.

The cradle of untouched exquisiteness, the North-Eastern state of Meghalaya, one of the ‘Seven Sisters of India,’ leaves an indelible imprint even after a short sojourn.

Aptly named ‘The Abode of Clouds’ the land shines bright with diaphanous rivers, tumbling waterfalls, dark caves, foggy hills, living bridges, and pine-carpeted forests.

It is little wonder then that Meghalaya tourism is steadily rising and marking a permanent spot in tourists’ travel plans.

The thrill of exploring the Leh Manali highway is unparallelled however, it can take a toll on you; that's where we step in!

Read Rashi Singhal's review as shared on on her experiential road trip from Manali to Ladakh crafted by us.

“We had Offbeat Tracks organise the road trip to Leh Ladakh for me and my husband.

They took care of booking the entire accommodation for every location including the not-very-famous ones. They included some amazing homestays and understood our preferences of both budget and liking very well.

The team at Offbeat is so hospitable. Since we were on the road for almost 10 out of 14 days of our trip, they literally checked on us every day as our family would. They were very prompt and available for anything we needed.

The local experiences that Offbeat organised for us were the highlight of our trip. From meals with locals to waterfall hikes. It was all mind-blowing. The best part is that they have a local partner everywhere who comes and meets you and takes care of you. It’s not just another agency where the team sits in the HQ and has no idea of the on-ground reality. Their team has travelled the terrain and the local partners add so much value. Offbeat Tracks is an absolutely amazing agency to organise offbeat experiences. I can’t imagine my Ladakh trip any other way. Thank you Offbeat Tracks. Look forward to more trips with you."

Roses wither, happy memories stay forever! In a world filled with material abundance, why should one choose to gift a vacation or an experience instead?

The answer lies in the profound impact on our lives and the lasting joy it brings. Experiences have the unique ability to transcend material possessions. While material gifts may provide temporary happiness, they often fade and lose their lustre. However, a vacation or experience becomes a part of who we are. It etches beautiful memories into our hearts and minds, becoming cherished stories we recount for years.

Gifting a vacation or experience will offer your loved ones the invaluable gift of creating lasting memories, and personal growth, with a positive impact on the local communities you interact with and a deeper appreciation for life. You can gift them a customised trip, book their slot on a group trip or even present an experience from a destination.

That's not all - there is something in store for you too. You can avail of a 10% discount on your package once you gift a vacation. Use code "GIFTOFFBEAT".
