While Christians around the world are preparing to celebrate Christmas on Dec. 25th, the Persians are set to tribute one of their most festive celebrations on Dec. 21st, the eve of winter solstice, the longest night and shortest day of the year. In Iran this night is called SHAB-E YALDAA, also known as SHAB-E CHELLEH, which refers to the birthday or rebirth of the sun.
In Zoroastrian tradition the longest and darkest night of the year was a particularly inauspicious day, and the practices of this customs was intended to protect people from evil (see dews) during that long night! People were advised to stay awake most of the night, lest misfortune should befall them, and people would then gather in the safety of groups of friends and relatives, share the last remaining fruits from the summer, and find ways to pass the long night together in good company.
Activities common to the festival include staying up past midnight, conversation, drinking, reading poems out loud, telling stories and jokes, and for some dancing.

Tap30 and Snapp are two main ridesharing, Taxi cab apps that are, lets say Iranian version of Uber. These apps are quite popular and affordable in Iran. You can download the apps on your smart phones in both iOS and Android and activate them upon your arrival. You need an Iranian SIM card to register a number and also an internet connection to use the apps. You can buy a pay-as-you-go sim card such as Irancell from the airport or newsstands anywhere in Iran. Simply activate your Snapp and Tap30 account and charge your account using of Persia Travel Card (contact us to know more about this service) or simply pay cash to the drivers.
Need to talk to a taxi drivers but you can not speak the language? Call us, we are happy to help

The Imam Reza shrine in is a complex which contains the mausoleum of Imam Reza, the eighth Imam of Twelve Shiites.It is the Largest Mosque in the world by area.
