Naqsh-e Rostam is an ancient archeological site and necropolis located about 13 km northwest of , in Fars Province, near Iran. A collection of ancient Iranian rock reliefs are cut into the face of the mountain and the mountain contains the final resting place of four Achaemenid kings, notably king the Great and his son, . This site is of great significance to the history of Iran and to Iranians, as it contains various archeological sites carved into the rock wall through time for more than a millennium from the Elamites and Achaemenids to Sassanians. It lies a few hundred meters from Naqsh-e Rajab, with a further four rock reliefs, three celebrating kings and one a high priest.

Open the post and watch the videos please!

In Yazd fire temple with my lovely guest from Australia.
We were so lucky to see the ritual of feeding the fire by a high rank cleric.

That’s right! The fire is more than 1500 years old and it has been burning since 470 AD. You might wonder how that is possible. Well, during years, loyal Mogies (fire worshipers) have been protecting this magical fire and they haven’t failed! The bad news is that you cannot enter the sanctum area unless you are a Zoroastrian. But don’t worry, you can see Behram Fire behind glass and imagine how many stories it has kept in its heart.

Ethnic groups in Iran

Iran is a culturally diverse society, and interethnic relations are generally amicable. The predominant ethnic and cultural group in the country consists of native speakers of Persian.

But the people who are generally known as Persians are of mixed ancestry, and the country has important Turkic and Arab elements in addition to the Kurds, Baloch, Bakhtyārī, Lurs, and other smaller minorities (Armenians, Assyrians, Jews, Brahuis, and others).

The Persians, Kurds, and speakers of other Indo-European languages in Iran are descendants of the A***n tribes that began migrating from Central Asia into what is now Iran in the 2nd millennium BCE.

Pink Mosque (Nasir-ol-Molk) Mosque

Also known as: Nasir-Ol Molk Mosque, Pink Mosque, Masjed-e Nasir ol-Molk, Rainbow Mosque Nasir al-Mulk or Pink Mosque (Also known as Rainbow Mosque) is a construction with a marvelous architecture in the city of Shiraz, which takes every viewer’ breath away with its play of light. Nasir al-Mulk Mosque or Pink Mosque is one of the architectural buildings of the Qajar period (1789-1925).

It was built by the order of Mirza Hassan Ali Khan Nasir al-Mulk, the son of the rulers of Persia in the Qajar period. The area of Nasir al-Mulk Mosque is 2980 square meters. Nasir al-Mulk Mosque amazes visitors from the moment they enter with its dazzling tiling. The glorious door of the facade has been made of wood. Nasir al-Mulk Mosque enjoys two winter Salons (indoor space that can be usually found in the traditional architecture of mosques), on the west and east side. Methods used in the decoration of the western salon is the main reason for the population and reputation of this stunning attraction. The masonry and decoration of this salon is inspired by the Vakil Mosque(another mosque) in Shiraz.

The inner part consists of a series of arches and vaults as well as two rows of six columns which divide the interior of the western salon into smaller sections. This salon is connected to the beautiful courtyard of the mosque by seven wooden gates. All these doors are decorated with the art of wooden decorations and pieces of colored glass.

Beams of sunlight and the passage of light through colored glass by combining red, azure, yellow, orange, and green colors create the indescribable image in the interior of this salon. This image blends with the brilliant art of stone carving, the magnificent art of colorful Qajar tiling and arches, lead to creating a dreamy atmosphere of Nasir al-Molk Mosque in Shiraz.

As a tour leader and travel company owner in Iran I always enjoy staying at in Isfahan.

This hotel truly is a piece of heaven on the earth. Every corner of this paradise was like a museum holding a priceless art masterpiece.

Abbasi Hotel (Persian: هتل عباسی, formerly known as the "Shah Abbas Hotel", Persian: هتل شاه عباس) is a hotel located in Isfahan, Iran.

The whole complex was built at the time of king Sultan Husayn of Safavid about 400 years ago. Formerly known as the Mothers Inn caravanserai, it was built as a caravanserai to provide lodging for travelers.

Upon the suggestion of French André Godard (1881–1965), an archaeologist, architect, and historian of French and Middle Eastern Art. Cultural Heritage Organization of Isfahan and insurance company decided to proceed with the renovation of the caravansary.

The selected architect, Mehdi Ebrahimian, led the project to restore and reconstruct the caravanserai, committing to preserve the originality of the outward facade while renovating the caravansary's chambers and remodeling them into the hotel rooms.

The American expert on historical Persian art and architecture, Arthur Upham Pope, lauded the magnificence of the decoration of the new hotel, describing in detail works drawn from the different periods within Iran in a letter dated 1966.

The 1974 film And Then There Were None, starring Oliver Reed and Elke Sommer, was shot here.

Saffron picking festival has started! Join Saffron tour for this season till the beginning of December!

They say Iranian saffron is the red gold that embodies an indescribable flavor that boosts its surrounding flavors into something extraordinary. As the only aromatic spice that is worth gold in its weight, saffron is the product of crocus flowers. The use of saffron gives a pungent aroma, a distinctive flavor, and a brilliant golden color to the foods. However, its use is not limited to the orders of cuisine, saffron is used for medicinal purposes as well as making perfumes and dyes.

Iranian Cuisine and Food Culture by Anthony Bourdain
Listen to this family explaining about Iranian food to their guest Anthony Bourdain.

cuisine has evolved for over 3500 years, from the times of ancient Persia. Due to a thriving trade in with India and later China, Iranian cuisine evolved in distinctive ways.

In general, Iranian cuisine does not overuse spices – instead, the focus is on presenting food in its freshest form with mild spices and flavors enhancing the natural taste of the core ingredient of each dish. Spice pastes and dips are often presented on the side, as dipping sauces or condiments that can be added to enhance the taste as needed.

Typical Iranian main dishes are combinations of rice with meat, vegetables and nuts. Herbs are frequently used, along with fruits such as plums, pomegranates, quince, prunes, apricots and raisins. Characteristic Iranian spices and flavourings such as saffron, cardamom, and dried lime and other sources of sour flavoring, cinnamon, turmeric and parsley are mixed and used in various dishes.

Ancient Persian philosophers and physicians have influenced the preparation of Iranian foods to follow the rules of the strengthening and weakening characteristics of foods based on the Iranian traditional medicine.

You are invited to the feast of Persian Cuisine!

Today October 12 is the Day of Shirazi a great and loved and respected by Iranians all over the world🩷

Enjoy a sonnet from his Diwan(Book of Poems)

Friends, unlock the locks of the Beloved’s head
On this joyous night, let the story spread.
In familiar solitude friends have tread
Close the door after a prayer is read.
Violin and harp loudly sang and said
Listen and let your sense by the Knower be led.
I swear all sadness will have fled
Once you trust in God to give your daily bread.
The lover and beloved differ as white and red
Need your hunger, when beloved wants to be fed.
The first words of the wine-master simply said
The unworthy companion strongly dread.
Whoever in this world with love is not wed
Hold his funeral as another living dead.
And if Hafiz for alms towards you has sped
Redirect him towards the Beloved’s bed.

Iranian carpet is one of the most precious handicrafts of this region having a long history, legacy and philosophy behind it. There are mainly two materials that Persian carpets are made of.

Wool

In most Persian rugs, the pile is of sheep's wool. Its characteristics and quality vary from each area to the next, depending on the breed of sheep, climatic conditions, pasturage, and the particular customs relating to when and how the wool is shorn and processed. Different areas of a sheep's fleece yield different qualities of wool, depending on the ratio between the thicker and stiffer sheep hair and the finer fibers of the wool. Usually, sheep are shorn in spring and fall. The spring shear produces wool of finer quality. The lowest grade of wool used in carpet weaving is "skin" wool, which is removed chemically from dead animal skin.Higher grades of Persian wool are often referred to as kurk, or kork wool, which is gained from the wool growing on the sheep's neck. Fibers from camels and goats are also used. Goat hair is mainly used for fastening the borders, or selvedges, of nomadic rugs like Baluch rugs, since it is more resistant to abrasion. Camel wool is occasionally used in Persian nomadic rugs. It is often dyed in black, or used in its natural colour. More often, wool said to be camel's wool turns out to be dyed sheep wool.

Silk

Silk is an expensive material, and has been used for representative carpets. Its tensile strength has been used in silk warps, but silk also appears in the carpet pile. Silk pile can be used to highlight special elements of the design. High-quality carpets from Kashan, Qum, Nain, and Isfahan have all-silk piles. Silk pile carpets are often exceptionally fine, with a short pile and an elaborate design. Silk pile is less resistant to mechanical stress, thus, all-silk piles are often used as wall hangings, or pillows.

Iran is a large country it has very green and dense million years old Hirkani forests and vast deserts.

Kaloots are one of the wonders in Iran deserts where you can experience the grandeur and silence of the nature! You will be surprised at the first sight to think who has made these large buildings in the middle of the desert as they look like large apartments, but when you go closer you will see they are naturally shaped.

The warmest spot in the world is recorded here in Kavir loot in Iran. Some parts of Loot desert is also put in list of UNESCO world’s heritage.

How are the Kaloots shaped?

In fact Kaloot (or Kalut) is a kind of natural phenomenon which is created by water and wind erosion. It is some prominence shaped like monuments naturally and without any human intervention. In top of these prominence there’s a flat surface and there’s a ramp on the windward side. Theses shapes usually have formed in result of lake’s erosion in old past years.

Shahdad Kaloots in Kerman are formed in an area of 4,000 square kilometers and formed about 20,000 years ago due to wind and water erosion. They are stretched from north to south and have 145 kilometers length and 70 kilometers wide.

Get inspired by the patterns and colors in Persian Fashion and style used by Persian women. Iranian women have a great taste in wearing beautiful trendy attires.

Travel with a local female especially a tourism professional who knows the rules about traveling in Iran and she will let you know where to wear what and where you can have scarf and where not.

Female travelers love to travel to Iran because of the very unique, colorful and authentic architecture, fashion taste and ornament of this beautiful country.

Persian women care about their fashion style so much as they have always wear their make-up and set their styles in a harmonic way.

Hijab is not tight in Iran and lots of women have their headscarves half head and their back of their hair are shown. Torn apart jeans, ankle length skirts, above ankle jeans and baggy pants are all very fashionable and trendy in Iran.

In order to get matched with the beautiful tilework, ornaments and decorations and also for the purpose of being stylish in Iran, it would be nice to use colorful fabrics and styles in this trendy destination.

In fact, Persian attitude regarding dress code is more casual than you might expect, however, there are some rules which are suggested to follow.

Sorbet, sherbet, syrup, shrub, and even the julep - have you ever heard of or tasted any of these? They all originate from the Persian iced drink: Sharbat.

The word is derived from sharbat (شربت), meaning a drink of sugar and water.

Sharbat is usually a syrup made from fruit, flower extracts, and/or herbs. The syrup is then diluted with sugar, water and ice.
Iran Mall's Sarbatkhane of Tehran is one of the most attractive places where tourists and local people meet every day and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere.

Sherbatkhane conveys the feeling of the Qajar era and the past history of Iran. You can time travel to the ancient history and culture of Iran there . Sharbat houses were places built in the past for people to gather and talk about various issues, especially in ancient Iran.

A wall of mountain that blocks the movement of clouds is the Opert Wall. The border between the forest and the desert. Due to the high altitude, the rain clouds mostly stop in the north of the slope. Louise Firouz (née Laylin), was an American-born, Iranian horse breeder and researcher who 'discovered' and helped to preserve the , a breed believed to be the ancestor of the Arab and other types of what are called "hot-blooded" (agile and spirited) horses, and previously thought to have been extinct for 1,300 years.

Remembered as a "phenomenon; a charming, intelligent, adventurous, American woman", she married a Persian prince from the Qajar dynasty and together they ran a horse breeding programme and riding school and raised a family through revolution, war and intrigue.

That the horse now exists in sustainable numbers in several countries worldwide (including Australia, America, New Zealand and Britain) is considered largely due to her efforts.Firouz has been dubbed Iran's lady of horses. She died in 2008 in Gonbad having lived more than half a century in northern Iran.
