Today we will focus on our fickle weather, especially the wind. 🌬🌬

Why is so important?

A very important determinant that you need to look at
every day is the wind speed. From 20m/s (72km/h) and
above, traveling in motorhomes or 4x4 campers is
prohibited. First of all, this wind is very dangerous and
traveling in such conditions can threaten your life and
health as well as those traveling with you. In such a
situation, it is best to find the nearest parking place and
try to face the wind. With stronger gusts of wind, it is
advisable not to leave the car.

But don't worry: Let the weather aura be best described by the saying: "You
don't like the weather in Iceland? Wait 5 minutes!"

TIP 2 - Gas Bottles

It is very important to change the gas bottle during your trip. In the lower right corner you can see what kind of fastening we use for our gas bottles. How to replace them?

Our employees will be happy to explain the whole scheme to you step by step in an understandable and simple way. In addition, you will receive an instructional video from us to refresh your memory.

Let's focus today on where you can replace your gas cylinders, because this is extremely important.

At the moment, bottles with such a connection can be purchased at two gas stations on the island. OLIS AND OB.

Let us remember that this is an extremely sparsely populated island, and thus you may not have access to any gas station for several hundred kilometers. In such a situation, it is good to check on the map where you can find gas stations on the route where you will be able to exchange your gas bottle for a new one. 👇

Some of the gas stations are unmanned and you cannot buy cylinders there. Fortunately, there is a menu on the website, just tick gas cylinders and it will show you all petrol stations where you can exchange your gas cylinders.

Alternatively, you can contact the head office at +354 515 1000.

Of course, you can order an additional cylinder when making a reservation or at our place when handing over the car.

New season, new location, new beginning!🔥

On this occasion, in May we have prepared interesting surprises for you, as well as a weekly event: May Tips from Camper Iceland.

The season is fast approaching, and in 2023 we decided to change our location. We wanted our new home to be a friendly place not only for us, but also for you. :) So that you can feel the atmosphere of Iceland before you even get into one of our motorhomes and set off on your journey around this wonderful island.

The official opening of our new office is coming soon!
In the meantime, full of new energy and joy of new opportunities brought to us by the new season, we have prepared some surprises for you!

Follow us every Monday in May as we have prepared an event for you, which we call May Tips from Camper Iceland. From our short information articles you will learn some very important information that will certainly make your journey around our island easier.
