Landverðir vekja athygli á að nokkuð hefur snjóað og skafið inn í Öskju og á Öskjuvatnsvegi F894, ofan Drekagils. Vegurinn er þungfær og ófær jepplingum eins og er.
Enn er skafrenningur í Öskju og ekki reiknað með að gangi niður að ráði fyrr en seinnipartinn. Hiti verður áfram í kring um frostmark og því má búast við að vegurinn verði háll þegar skaflar hafa verið keyrðir niður.

Í Kverkfjöllum hefur lítið snjóað á veg og við Sigurðarskála.

Milli Öskju og Nýjadals er snjór, enda vegir í meira en 900 metra hæð yfir sjávarmáli.

On road F894 from Drekagil to Askja there is snow, making the road impassable for small jeeps (SUV's). For bigger 4x4 vehicles driving conditions are difficult. Temperature will be around 0°C so the road will become slippery with traffic.

Hiking conditions in Askja are also difficult and not expected to improve today. It is windy and sleet and walking in soft snow is exhausting.

Snow on the road to Kverkfjöll and around Sigurðarskáli hut is very limited.

Between Drekagil and Nýidalur there is snow, since the elevation is more then 900m.
