Attualmente le vie di accesso al centro storico di Torrita sono Porta a Pago, Porta a Sole, Porta Nova e Porta Gavina quest'ultima è la più antica, costituita da un portone ligneo. Molto bella Piazza Matteotti, il centro della vita sociale di Torrita dove si trovano gli edifici più caratteristici come il Palazzo Comunale, il Teatro degli Oscuri e la Chiesa di Santa Flora. Il Palazzo comunale risalente al XIII secolo, era stato realizzato per diventare la sede del governo, oggi è presente il Comune di Torrita. La chiesa di Santa Flora e Lucilla è in stile romanico e si presente con una facciata ricca di decorazioni molto belle in laterizio. Infine il Teatro degli Oscuri ebbe origine nel 1760 per volere dell'Accademia degli Oscuri, persone desiderose di promuovere a cultura teatrale del paese che riuscirono nel loro scopo.

Beautiful appartment in the heart of the medieval village of Torrita di Siena. The apartment has been recently renovated, it's cozy and comfortable, yet elegant and in original Tuscan style. It is right inside the walls of Torrita, in the ancient and most peaceful part of town, but only a few steps away from anything you might need. The appartment has a kitchen, living room, bathroom with shower, and bedroom. Thanks to its central location, it offers the opportunity to visit the most beautiful parts of Tuscany such as Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, all within a few kilometers. Torrita di Siena is an ancient village on a hill on the western slopes of the Val di Chiana, located about 80 km southeast of Florence and about 40 km southeast of Siena. Its origins date back to 1100ad. You can still see the towers and walls which make the whole village look like a fortress
The “gates” (doors to the city , located within the ancient walls, were built in medieval times. Currently the access to the historic center of Torrita is granted by 4 gates, three of which (Porta a Gavina, Porta a Pago and Porta a Sole), are the oldest. The fourth gate, Porta Nuova, was added in the 19th century. Very beautiful Piazza Matteotti (only 50m from the appartment!) is the center of social life of Torrita, where you can find the most emblematic buildings like the Town Hall, the Theatre of the Dark (Teatro degli Oscuri) and the Church of Santa Flora. The town hall, dating from the thirteenth century, was designed to become the seat of government, It is now the townhall of Torrita. The church of Santa Flora and Lucilla is in Romanesque style and present a facade richly decorated very nice brick. Finally, the Dark Theatre originated in 1760 at the behest of the Academy of the Dark Ones, people wanting to promote a theatrical culture of the country that succeeded in their purpose.
